If you're comparing Thailand to Europe or North America, then I guess Thailand's pretty homophobic, but if you're…
Yeah, I feel the bisexual/sexual fluid way is the way of most BLs in general, but when I mean when I have seen BLs when we know at least one of the guys is gay before the relationship happens, it's usually in a Taiwanese BL. I haven't heard the "I'm not into men, I'm only into you." line since SOTUS though. I don't think BL is meant to be or should be representational for gay relationships though and I think most gay guys realize that. So as long as young gay guys aren't being disillusioned, I think the genre at least opens people's minds (mostly straight girls) to gay romances, albeit with intense heteronormativity.
I think Chopper is a little strange. I think it's weird he just sits by and watches someone's fingers being cut…
My assumption about Chopper is that at some point earlier in time before their implied fallout, Chopper may have actually been the scumbag, but now he's changed and he's trying to get back to being with Ben. I think Ben may be deceiving Neungdiao because he needs something from him that Chopper may already know about which is why he asks Ben what he does in ep 2.
Is Thailand very homophobic?but they make good bl seriesWhat a shame 😔😔😔
I wonder what you mean by "quite bad"? Do you mean coming out to your family and not being accepted bad or something else? Because outside the context of a conservative family or possibly a particularly conservative work environment, Thailand is actually quite LGBTQ-friendly.
My favourite quote from the series: "BL stands for Boy Love, where a straight man falls in love with a straight…
If you're comparing Thailand to Europe or North America, then I guess Thailand's pretty homophobic, but if you're comparing Thailand to Asia, then it's basically the #2 most open country after Taiwan. Also, the premise of over half (at LEAST) the BL in basically every Asian country is a 'straight' man falling in love with another 'straight' man...Taiwan is the exception in that in many of their BLs over the past 5-6 years, the sexual orientation of the characters was made known as gay before their romance actually started.
I think the characters are being drawn a little sloppily. It's just typical of GMMTV. Watch Vice-Versa, Enchante,…
Vice-Versa and Enchante did have a lot of this as well. Maybe Tanya is coming from a place where she feels her hands are somewhat tied, but I also felt like if she's just as rich and powerful as her brother-in-law and I think she knows what he's capable of, so in order to protect her family, I'd expect her to be ready to fight fire with fire especially after her husband's murder. We'll see though. There might be something else going on.
Ok, Neungdiao can't fight and is intimidated due to the two other guys there as well, but honestly the level of restraint he's able to show is what I would expect from someone's dad who died of natural causes. Neungdiao saw his dad die in front of him and is able to let that boy talk so much sh*t before he actually does anything and when he does, it's just a push. That doesn't strike me as realistic. The trauma from that event plus all those harsh words while wearing his father's last birthday gift to him would have sent any normal person into a blind rage. The same kinda goes for his mom. She saw her own husband die due to threats against the company and instead of backing down, she's brave enough to hold her ground against the entire public, but when someone she knows and already hates throws her husband's death in her face then implies to her face that he could her or her son, she cowers? Her character strikes me as much stronger and I wish that scene would have been written that way. Also, I don't know about Phuwin's acting in the fight scene and just the 'logistics' of the fight overall...it seemed very fake. Other than that, I enjoyed this episode a lot. Especially shooting range scene. Lastly, I don't hear actually words when Ben is talking. Just hissing. 🐍
I feel like even if Dew were to say, "Sorry, Mint. I'm gay.", she'd still be like, "Ok, you can be gay, but can you just make an exception this one time for me?"
Their love in just this episode has progressed faster than 17 episodes of OMSN. You can feel their joy and happiness…
Yeah. We he was trying to explain himself to the chef about how he feels when he's around Dew it was so sweet. He was trying to say he's in love, but couldn't/didn't know how to.
I'm really glad I waited to start this so I can binge a little bit. I loved the first episode even if the music and flashbacks from UWMA did make wanna cry all over again. #pdeeeeaaaaannn
The way Milk pushes Uncle away from him and says "Move, get away from me now." after giving him a kiss reminds me of my own cat and it stresses me out. lol 😭 This was such a cute show. I'm gonna miss them.
