-Sohee didn’t even apologize. I noticed that sh*t it’s gonna stick in my mind until she does…if she does. -As if Namgoong didn’t already have my heart in his pocket next to his snacks, he has to go and sing! 😍 God, I love him! I don’t like that he’s there for Sohee or whatever, but I can let that go. -Daon, welcome to real life, baby. We were all rooting for you and by God, you made it. ❤️ The conversation he had with the teacher had me clutching my pearls for a split second because the thought ran across my mind: Why does it look like he’s about to confess to his teacher?! 😬 -I’m so happy that the barrier has finally been let down and Taekyung knows Shinwoo’s feelings for him, but jeez….all those messages and it still took Shinwoo saying that he’ll still probably be thinking about Taekyung tomorrow for Taekyung to finally have his 💡 moment????…..when Taekyung asks what if he never got a chance to read the messages and Shinwoo responds with “I thought you’d figure it out eventually.”…..ummmm I’d beg to differ. 😅
As usual, no matter how small the budget is, I can always count on Oak to heighten the quality with this humble realness. I loved all the awkward and shy moments between them and the story is entirely focused on them without very much camera time for others. I love getting to see other parts of Thailand and different lifestyles of people there. It doesn't always need to be rich people meeting East Asian and Eurocentric beauty standards. On that note, both of these guys were very attractive in my opinion. Lastly, I only thought one thing was a little strange when Time was insisting on helping Night and that was that Night didn't ask him for any money and Time didn't offer. Fine, Time doesn't seem to be rich, but Time's friends did express how poor Night was and considering Time S H O T him, Night asking for and/or Time offering a couple hundred baht would have been a bit more realistic.
Anyway, this was short and sweet. Definitely recommend.
The parcing for me was better in this episode. For the record, I think most people don't like the overextended…
Lots of good points here. This drama does seem to jump back and forth through the rabbit hole of BL fantasy and realism in some aspects. However, I do find myself "feeling" this one. If I'm completely honest, I don't think about it much throughout the week because Light On Me is occupying WAY much more space in the BL category of my mind these days than it should be, but I do enjoy taking time out on my Saturday afternoons or Sunday nights to watch this.
"Last night I binged Crossing the Line - I just meant to watch the first ep, but I couldn't stop." I've seen enough of your comments and you're not fooling me. I know exactly what made you binge that series so fast. ^_^
Can anyone explain why this series, which is far from perfect but very engaging, is receiving such a low viewership?…
I'm almost positive it's a marketing thing. I follow BL quite a bit and I feel like just 'happened' upon this one rather than it being one that was getting much attention.
I get the sense it will be more of a "trust" trope. I don't expect that either guy with cheat on the other, but…
Yep. That's what I mean. I should have worded it better. What I'm waiting for is for Leo to some how get tripped up into thinking Fiat's cheating on him.
The pacing is weird, yeah, but that really doesn't bother me at all. Honestly, if the slowness of it you that much, but you still want to know what happens, pop it on 1.5x or 2x and slow it down as needed. Now that that's out of the way, onto everything else: I LOVE IT. The acting doesn't feel forced. Yes, there's the specter of cancer and possible death looming in the background, but the romance isn't suffering for that. It suffered in the beginning because of unrequited feelings and distance. If, after Phob came back, there was still a super long, drawn out back and forth with him and Nut coming to terms with each other and Nut forgiving him, I'd be disappointed, but that didn't happen. They've acknowledged their feelings for each other and it's full speed ahead. I really wasn't expecting anything from this. I hadn't seen any promos for this past a Facebook post and a line on World of BL, but I'm glad I decided to check it out. That bed scene in ep. 4 is probably the most tender scene I've seen in a BL all summer so far. Next, Man's smile. It literally melts me. To add to it, seeing them talk about the scenes in the BTS after the episode just endears both Man and Title even more to me. Even if this does wind up having a "sad" ending and I'm in tears by the last episode (knowing me, probably before that), I'm sure that they'll be tears of happiness and celebration of the love between this two characters.
If you're wondering whether or not you should watch this and the pacing thing won't bother you, watch it. <3
I'm happy that it's starting out with them already being in a relationship, but let's see how episodes we get through before the infidelity trope pops up.
It's sad to hear what happened with his GF. I hope he gets a good lawyer, it sounds like the GF had mental issues.
Let's say it was self-defense. Let's say they'd had really crazy fights before mostly instigated by her. Let's say the girl came at him with the knife first. Self-defense + rage could possibly warrant more than one stab to your attacker, but T W E N T Y ? Jamming a knife into another human being isn't something any average person is used to. Once the person you're stabbing stops moving (presumably after three or four stabs **TO THE CHEST**), how do you keep stabbing them for another 16/17 times and NOT call that murder??? Like....wtf?
The end of the Vogue interview with Shinwoo and Taekyung though… 😬
Sorry. I wasn’t trying to be one of the ones to start a fight with you. 😅 I just think that the end of that interview was really funny. I guess they wouldn’t spoil the series, but I’ve known it to happen before in interviews. 😂
Guys, when I tell you this episode put me THROUGH IT...! Probably why I had to edit this comment approximately…
All Wednesday I was racking my brain as to how I'd be satisfied by the end of this series if/when Taekyung is with Shinwoo and Daon's out. The Namgoong/Daon ship must sail! If only in my dreams!
I love all the cute, quasi-romantic moments between Shinwoo and Taekyung just as much as the next person, but I haven't seen a male lead in a BL be so categorically friendzoned since Theory of Love. When Taekyung asks if Shinwoo has ever opened up again and Shinwoo looks at him like "Are you f***ing blind?!" only for Taekyung to give him his classic blank stare like, "👁👄👁.....yep!" That gutted me so bad. It was funny, but damn. lol Shinwoo is doing his best to be the best boy, but he's still only on his way to being Shin's best friend until he makes it plain to Taekyung. Shinwoo's feelings and the fact that he 'deserves' to be with Taekyung aside for a minute. In addition to Taekyung not realizing that Shinwoo likes him, we also don't seem to have gotten any significant indicator that Taekyung is or would be interested in Shinwoo romantically even if he did confess. I know, I know. The fates have long since willed it so, but still...
Daon *sigh*...Now after a dozen steps in the wrong direction for everyone's sake but his own, he's ending up with a lost first love to his best friend (of all people) and flat out betrayal from a person who seemingly loved him more than he loved himself at times. T R A G E D Y. If his finding out So-hee's a total cockroach finally spurs him into action, I'll be happy that he's asserting himself, but I don't think that means he should end up with Taekyung and that sucks because he should get to be happy, but when you hurt people, they're hurt and Taekyung's hurt. :(
how does this have a better rating than 2gether...
I'm comparing based on feedback I saw on social media (twitter, ig, youtub, mdl, etc.) during the time that both series were airing. The main complaints about 2gether was that Bright's acting was stiff and that the chemistry didn't seem to be there. The plot of 2gether wasn't generally perceived as bad, but it wasn't terribly exciting either. For TT on the other hand, people thought they did a good job showing the extreme emotions of the characters. The plot, while everyone seems to agree was toxic, was also intense and had more things going on. Lastly, the chemistry between Mew and Gulf is largely perceived as the best thing about this show. For some people, as you can see through many of the comments here, it's the *only* thing good about the show.
I guess yeah, I think 2gether is more 'sweet and loveable', but I don't think TT was trying to be a sweet and lovable series at all.

Better acting, more eventful plot, and actual chemistry between the leads that felt more romantic than platonic. Those are the first three reasons I think of.
