I was one of the people who didn't really care for these eps (esp watching it RAW and not really understanding much of what was happening). But seeing comments like this has changed my mind and rewatching the eps, I can appreciate them more. I like that Chang Ge had her 'down' time to truly reflect on everything that happened since the beginning and her growth which was very much needed. Leyan and Hao Du as characters still don't interest me much but I'm glad they had progression too.

Yea, most people only consider Sun's feelings for Chang Ge without acknowledging that many times, he has basically force his own ideas for her on her. He brings her back to Eagle Division as his slave; yes it's because he wants her alive bc he likes her but he doesn't consider there if that's what she wants or needs. He tries to stop her from interfering/saving Li Shimin when he knows she can't see harm come to Tang country. She wants to save the general and her plan only risks herself, Shiba, and the general but Sun gets himself and his squad involve (& Khatun gets Alir involve). Shit goes down and the fault somehow only falls to Chang Ge in some people's mind -.- yes characters need to own their own actions and mistakes but they can't own other's decisions and actions too

Maybe he knows/expects Hao Du to step up since he likes Leyan and is perfectly capable of beating Sher.

Yes, when he kept saying "I will be a general" cue to me at 4 am watching this on my laptop sobbing lol it was not a pretty sight.

yep, thank god Sun was astute enough to realize even as a kid how Great Khan's got issues and what he needs to do to survive. It's amazing he was able to escape from the usual typical 'gotta make my dad proud and bend over backwards even though he treats me like shit so that one day he might finally love me' trope

a lot of clips of this was popping up on my yt. i think i click on one which was a preview of ep 5; the scene where he finds her shot with an arrow and he's carrying her. for some reason, i was kinda just skimming that and wasn't really paying attention so i was just like 'meh' moving on... didn't think about it. then i was at my cousin's place and she was watching another series on yt and when that series finish, it just autoplayed TLB. again, i was doing my own thing while this was playing in the bg. every once in a while i would look up and something on it would catch my attention like the cuju game and then her running back and seeing her mom's body and her escape, etc. it looked interesting but i knew this was just starting to air and i tend to binge most things so i don't watch until all eps are aired. but bit by bit i kept watching more of what was going on in the eps and i got hooked on Chang Ge and her revenge mission (I have a thing for slaughter family, revenge plots) and her dynamic with Sun so I just gave in and watch all the eps available which on yt was only 12 eps at that point so the waitingfor new eps was torture lol but here we are, i don't regret it.

my point isn't that no one made mistakes. they all made mistakes in their own way that attributed to the tragedy which is why it's unfair when most people just piled on the hate for Chang Ge when the 'blame' lies in practically everyone and the circumstances. I may not agree with the characters' choices but I understand their choices and can see where their coming from; which is what I hope most viewers can do after their initial emotions to viewing such sad/maddening things happen.

I did like Chang Ge getting a 'down' time to reflect on everything that's happened since the beginning and her personal growth during those eps.

seems like she might have a crush on him or something. i saw from some translation that she was saying she won't give him up (to Leyan if he fights and wins)

sadly there's a lot no one is talking about. it seems just bc of ep 25, a lot of people have seen her as just a fuck up and selfish, etc. as if the earlier episodes did not exist and she did not save many people/the country time and time again. as if even what she did in ep 25 wasn't to save someone!

Exactly. Sun made his own decisions. Chang Ge even told him not to get involve. He did so on his own accord bc he likes her. But as Tegin, he is the one responsible for his own tribe yet he put them in harm's way bc he deemed Chang Ge important enough to risk them. Why is that suddenly on her when she had no say in what Sun was going to do? She only put her own life at risk doing what she did. The general was already in a precarious situation and honestly him dying by fighting to save Chang Ge was the better ending for him than to just be continuously torture per Great Khan's plan. Alir (& her death) was always going to be a pawn for Khatun to use at some point against Sun.

seriously, he was literally the one with a sword at Sun's moms throat, all bc he was on an ego trip. but all i see is people ragging on Chang Ge who didn't even want A'Sun involved. The reason Alir was even involved is bc Sher's mom put her up to it. whether it was this situation or not, she was sadly always going to be a part of Khatun's twisted plans to sow discord btwn A'Sun/Eagle Division and Great Khan.

I wonder if A'Sun recognizes Wei Shuyu was the Chang'an envoy in Yuzhou. Maybe he thinks there is more to Wei's relationship with Chang Ge before bc she was so sad about losing her 'friend' when they had that second talk under the moonlight back in Yuzhou but now they are friendly again.
