Odd beginning but figured it had to be a dream (and glad it was relatively short too because I don't care for fantasy or too much wuxia in a historical drama). First few episodes do drag a bit imho, but by 5 or 6 it starts to pick up, so I'll most likely continue to watch to the end now.

I agree, he seems to be lacking in what I've come to expect from male leads in Chinese historical dramas
