I totally agree with you. Even though his father gets on my nerves, he's still a sick patient with liver cancer. I understand him wanting to get closer to his grandson but I really hope he can at least respect TJ and listen to her opinion. But the main problem of this drama is lack of communication LOL

Basically, Meng Meng (the driver and the lady's daughter who died because she was struck by a truck and died on the scene.) made a virtual reality game and she chose FL . She chose female lead because she looked liked her and believed that she can be the one to stop her parents from bombing the bus. Meng Meng wouldn't want her parents to die like that.
As you continue til the end, Meng Meng was actually harassed by a male stranger on the bus (that's why she wanted to get out of the bus.). So when she died, maybe in some other dimension or another world, she made a virtual reality game which is basically time loop to find the culprit. But due to Chinese censorship, they cannot put that on screen.
Meng Meng's parents couldn't get over her death so they wanted to kill themselves along with other people on 45 bus. Cuz 45 Bus was the same bus Meng Meng was on when she was harassed. I only remember the leads told the police about the main culprit in ep 15. At least, Meng Meng's spirit is now free.
I don't think the ML is weak, he was in the dark about everything. Ever since TJ broke up with him, they failed to remain in contact because he was overseas. TJ was in a very difficult situation back then with literally no one to turn to. She remained strong because of her child. That's why she tend to bottle things up and it will take a long time for her to open up to the ML. I believe ML still has a chance to make it up but his father was sooo f--- annoying. Father is too selfish and he failed to respect TJ. Since we still have more episodes to go, I really want the ML to stand up for TJ and protect her from his father. I would hate it if the ending sucks.
Final saying, TJ better not send any mixed signals to the doc. Stop torturing yourself and accept Dr. Nie!
I finished the drama! Boy, it put me on edge! I was biting lips cuz I was soooo nervous! I'm so happy it's a great ending. Finally they found the culprit so Meng Meng's spirit will be free. Glad time loop ended!
