I do the same thing! I like to confirm that the show will have a happy and satisfactory ending, and if it has break ups or love triangles for me to decide if I will watch or not. However, I do understand your point, but sometimes they do these things to bring a learning lesson or karma at the end.

I just can't get over the fact that she wanted to keep everything secret even she had a legitimate and legal relationship with him, but the moment they separated she suddenly didn't care if other people saw her openly flirting and/or dating with the other guy even when they were also co workers. I found that hypocritical from her if you know you I am talking about, and while he was rude because of immaturity or something, he never really dated his friend with the kid, while she couldn't care less about being all out with this other guy in front of him. I am happy for them when they get back together, but I cannot forget the sour flavor of all of that unnecessary love triangle while they were separated for so many episodes...
