Plus, waiting 40 episodes with a story that I hope will be engaging to get 30+ of a healthy marriage when most dramas end with the proposal or getting married, sounds very appealing.

Hola! I did my research on this show about the elements that I like and hate from dramas, and while I love romance but this requires a long wait for it to happen, it seems like it will be worth the wait.

Yu Rong finding out about the specific root and plan to fake the princess pregnancy makes no sense! There were no clues that would indicate that it ever happened, at least not from Yu Rong perspective since he has no influence in the palace...

If only they didn't waste like 10 episodes, and invested more time on the main leads and/or his sport...

I am only 5.5 episodes away from completing this one, and I can already say that this is masterpiece. My only regret is that since the plot is all about revenge and justice and will be left with wanting to see more as a couple from the main leads even when their chemistry have been amazing! I think I should watch "The Story of Ming Lan" to be able to watch married couple across some 30 episodes even if I have to wait for like 30 episodes for that to happen...

I am on episode 31 now, and while they are not officially together, their feelings, chemistry and flirting is obvious! I am looking forward for them being finally together even if is in the last episode!

I am not "imposing my own", I am showing my preference, and I prefer that cousin stay as family regardless of historical or cultural context, and I prefer if a guy that is not the male lead stays away from the girl..

I agree! but I have to say that this show has a lot of romance! but instead of hollow cute words, unnecessary and distracting shows of affection, and cringe worthy moments, you get incredibly chemistry, tacit understanding and romance in every interaction between the main leads translated into the small details.

I think so, yes. But if I get where you are coming from, it seems like he likes her but I am hoping for two three things, that keep those "feelings" to himself, that she keeps her distance and that she makes things clear for him when the time comes...

However, and understandable because it is related to her father; I don't like that she dropped her cover as Jiang Li constantly when showing interest in her father's case, acting towards saving him and revealing her true identity by a lot of people from her local town by episode 20. I know the writers can rescue this situation, but I need her to get back into Jiang Li mode and go back to making smart choices instead of letting emotions get the best of her.

I believe that our female lead here is extremely smart, and I love how she is quick on her words to change things into a direction that aligns with her purpose.

All those are love triangles, but as long as the FL only has eyes for ML, and ML only has eyes for FL, and none of the other guys get too close to her or get too much screentime with her, I'll be fine!

I am getting some "love triangle" vibes from the smart cousin. I like his character, but I am hoping he does not like FL, since having a slow burn like this one is taxing enough. The way I see it, the FL only flirts back with ML, but it would be best if they don't try to push a love triangle with the smart cousin...

I am tempted to watch that one, but I am a sucker for romance, and I read that while the main couple remain together until the end, they don't get together until episode 40 or 50, and I want more romance than that. "The Double" is an exception since it has me hooked and I am even enjoying the slow burn romance for once, but that's not always the case with me...
