As break up due to misunderstandings go, this is top tier.As noble idiocy goes, this isn't even idiocy. Staying…
Let's just argue because we like to, ha! Intentions are always good and fine, but intentions can hurt more than help: 1) It's not noble to leave his beloved to fend for herself like that. The drugging part is noble, but when he saw the tremendous loss she just suffered, plus he'd just shot her, it was just foolish, not noble. 2) If breakup was really what he wanted, there were so many other ways to do this. Bury the dead together and break up. 3) The idiocy parts are in the trailers, so there's room to change my mind: The fact that he found out she was going to be working around the same bad people circles and he still wanted to play this role of being noble to not hurt her was laughable. He knew what she'd go through as a businesswoman. Of course, he wanted to discourage her, so he actively worked to be against her, killing all her efforts to survive. How was that noble? Idiocy at its best, because he'd know she WOULD grit her teeth to carry on and...yes, she would actually go to the side he hated to try to survive. So now she was really among the same sharks he'd wanted her to avoid. Gah.
Love triangle healthy person:DW + YZJ + ZJRMy love triangle:Duan Wu + Yue Yun Xiu + Cui Shi Jiu👌🔥🤣https://x.com/wonwoncity/status/1855573903927918896
Oh, I love all the angst, it's so well-executed, though it's quite unusual since most cdramas I've watched were…
Yeah, and on another site (not MDL), I'm rolling my eyes reading posts after posts saying the drama was too slow. I don't know what they're watching. This drama is moving along like it's on cruise control!
So now they're back to being antagonists. And he's not really protecting her any longer, is he? Because she's…
That's what I meant. When it's time for him to grovel his way back to her good graces, the groveling better be good. I want him to drag his ass through glass, that's what I'm saying, LOL. If they're going to use that trope (and they did), then the payoff, usually groveling, better be phenomenal.

Yes, I think so too, but I'm just shaking my head at the noble idiocy trope. YZJ gave her up to "protect" her from the bad guys or being hurt, but didn't he realize that she is going to be around the bad guys and would be hurt nonetheless? She knew all about his revenge and could pretty much figure out his "songstress" shenanigans, whatever it might be. All I can say is, when the time comes for him to grovel, the writer(s) better not let me done and give me some good groveling on his part.
Did you expect sweetness and light for 40 episodes? Even the Long Ballad was not sweetness and light for the main…
I think you misunderstood DuanWu's journey here. It is NOT about revenge. And I don't know where you stopped, since Episode 16 onwards IS about their romance, even when they're now apart. But it's OK. I'm not here to convince you to watch something you're not enjoying :). May another drama give you joy!
Trailers 21 and 22 Discuss the crazy trope of noble idiocy! What an aptly named trope.
So now they're back to being antagonists. And he's not really protecting her any longer, is he? Because she's now actively wanting to work with his enemy LOL. Or, maybe she sees through him and goes to work with his enemy to find out stuff herself? Oh, noble idiocy. There's no cure.

You didn't think the ending of drama odd? They weren't together at all. And IMO, Duan Wu is quite bad ass in her own way. Her growth is going to exceed even the Princess' (LuSi's own character) in this drama. And you don't even know if the ending is actually bad. We are not even anywhere near the ending yet!
