I just binged the first 4 episodes and the drama delivered in terms of script, acting, characters and angst. In…
You and I know the travails of the first 4 episodes expectations, heh heh heh. That said, LuSi SHINES. In all her dramas, she will chew, eat up and digest all the scenery if the other actors don't up their game. *grin Great to see us here! Looking forward to your posts.
I want to know if this is good, or rather if it would be considered good even without the big names. Is the hype…
Here's some very mild spoilers for you to make up your mind:
LuSi does not disappoint, 1) She played a slave in survival mode very well, Her fierceness, her protectiveness, her will to survive all shown well. 2) We get to see the dance from the trailers. 3) Her anguish about her mother was classic Lu Si. No one cries liker her. Reminiscent of the scene in The Last Immortal when she wailed at the death of her sister. 4) We get to meet the two different personalities of ML1 and ML2. ML 1, Liu YuNing, was properly hateful and arrogant towards LuSi's DuanWu. ML 2, Tang Xiao Tang, was all proper, scholarly and respectful. 5) Their paths crossed with DuanWu suffering more.. Also, where have I seen the actress for that Cui Biotch before? Her voice sounds so familiar.
So far, I like the connecting reason--the blood-stained tear belonging to Duan Wu. There was no odd "let's be nice and keep her" decision. The main leads are at loggerheads and I can't wait for Duan Wu to win a round over the arrogant Yan. You know she will!
Can't wait for Episode 5. I felt Episode 4 ended too abruptly--no hook to it, like it was just cut off in mid-conversation.
Episodes 1-4 are awesome so far. It's keeping my attention. A little bit of spoilers below.
