This is the first kdrama series that I’m actually enjoying every aspect of the show. From the main leads stories to the supporting cast stories. Every single story draws you in, and intertwine that with the weather plot. It all just comes together. I love how mature the ha-kyung and siwoo’s relationship is. They may have disagreements and not share everything with each other but when push comes to shove, they openly discuss and move on from their conflicts. I’m so glad they didn’t go the ridiculous manufactured breakup route but instead they used both their past traumas to start fresh. I’m glad hakyung didn’t judge siwoo based on his scummy father but rather told him to not be in pain because of him. First of all how did a man like that breed such a sweet soul like siwoo. Even coming from that he’s still such a good person. I don’t think Siwoo feels comfortable living with hakyung yet, based on the ep 7 preview not sure on his reasoning but I want them to both be ready for that step before they take it. Excited and curious for the episodes to come.

This drama is giving me everything it’s supposed to give. The chemistry, the acting, the never before done fascinating weather storyline. Kind of glad they are getting straight into the relationship instead of the useless slow burns that takes them 80 years to get together with manufactured drama to keep them apart. At least with this they both know what they signed up for, the terms of it ending has already been dictated so it’s no unnecessary drama. Secret dating office trope let’s go. The journey to them falling in love and realizing they are each other’s the one will be so good to watch. And of course the annoying exes with their regrets will be a part of the expected obstacles. One of my surprise fav drama so far of 2022.

After going in what not much expectations apart from liking both leads (PMY and SK). I have to say the first two episodes exceeded my expectations. I was practically clapping when ha kyung slapped the taste out of her ex boyfriends mouth and gave him a verbal smackdown in that second episode. I was screaming yass queen, screw that ahole. The chemistry is there with all the leads so I'm happy to see all their interactions so far. Even invested in the supporting character lives, which is rare. I hope they keep going at the pace they have established so far cause I like it alot.

Doesn’t mean much seeing as they announced drama’s like lie to love and some other ones for 2022 but they all aired in 2021 recently. But I do believe this will air in 2022.

All episodes completed. I gotta say as much as I nitpicked certain aspects of this drama. I really overrall enjoyed it, the acting, production, ost were all great. Story could have been better but the cast did great with the material they were all given. It really speaks to how good the acting was when you had me balling my eyes out during that scene with Haishi and Shifu dreaming about what could have been, that was a poignant and beautiful scene to really sell how tragic the drama is. The inevitability of fate and wishes.
Okay so I didn't really cry during the Ti lan and Emperor death scene because it was expected so it was just sad to see them die knowing they'll never get the chance to raise their son. But sucks to be Ti lan, she remained naïve and trusting to the end, all her maids betrayed her, her brother did the same, the poor girl was just clueless to the end. At least she died knowing she was truly loved and cared for by one person.
The emperor's death I think was the right timing, he had been living in agony and pain when Zizan died and now that he finally met someone else to help fill that void, him living on without Ti lan just would not have made sense. He lived a tragic life losing two people he loved but at least he had love in his brotherhood with Shifu because I believe the only reason he lived on after Zizan's death was because of his love for Shifu.
One thing I really liked about the show is that they showed love and loyalty in different forms, doesn't have to be with a love interest but with found family. HaiShi and ZhouYing, ZhouYing and Shifu, the emperor and Shifu, Mu de qing and the Emperor, Haishi and Tilan. All relationships with familial love.
The bittersweet end of Haishi becoming Empress and raising the little prince was also expected but it truly speaks to who she and Shifu are as people, selfless and loyal to the end. Even though she didn't get to have the simple life with Shifu that she wanted with their own child at least she still gets to share motherly love with the little prince, might not be her biological child but adoptive or biological, as long as she raises and loves the child like her own, that's all that matters. And the young prince already seemed to adore her and respect Shifu.
ZhouYing and Zheliu deserved that happy ending, at least one couple did but I'm sad that they seemed to rush their story, how did he find her?
Great job to the team on this, hoping to see YM soon on her next series.

Oh no Zheliu and ZhouYing are breaking might heart, they seem to be the only pairing I'm rooting for other than the bromance of Haishi and ZhouYing (reunite them please).
Seems like my speculation is coming true with the baby being raised by Haishi. They already started forming a connection with the baby only kicking for her. So although Haishi herself wont have a baby by the Emperor, she'll raise the child of the Emperor as her own just like what they said happened in the books except she won't be the biological mother. What will happen to her and Shifu is the question?
I definitely believe the Emperor and Tilan will be meeting their demise at the end though which will make HaiShi Empress to rule the land with the prince as the next in line.
All of Tilan's maids are trash, I thought Bizi was better than the one that killed herself but nope she's trying to sow seeds of doubt about HaiShi and Emperor by implying that Haishi trying to snatch him from Tilan. If only she knew better.
Almost to the finish line and I feel like I have an idea of how it will end but still want to be surprised.

Haishi/Madam Pearl is now a politician and celebrity, my girl is moving on up in the world 😊. This is basically her foundation for being Empress, I still believe that's the route they are taking here. I'm glad Shifu saw with his own two eyes that she's a capable and smart woman who doesn't need to always be protected or babied.
It's obvious the Emperor sees Haishi as an asset, and ally though they didn't go the love triangle route he still considers her capable and trusts her. Yay for that.
And ZhouYing please don't marry that princess, first of all aren't they cousins? or is it just like same tribe that makes them family type of thing? she's a lovely young woman but his heart will always be with ZheLiu and unfortunately he doesn't know she's alive and well. Hold on longer, she'll reveal herself. And I hope he finds out his uncle was trying to mac on HaiShi and almost made her his wife .🤣 I would like to see that reaction.

He loves her in his own toxic twisted way I think but there’s no partnership, autonomy or freedom of choice given to her from him so I really wouldn’t call that love but that’s up to the viewer to make their own assessment I think.

Bro I screamed in laughter when Shifu barged in and screamed poison, the way the Emperor pushed Tilan to the side was hilarious. They probably didn't intend for it to be funny but that was something.

Yay the secrets finally out, Hai Shi can finally start on her Empress journey, but Shifu urgh that man why does he keep doing the things he does, not only does he reveal her identity without even giving her a hint, but he unilaterally makes the decision to marry her off to another man not just another man the most powerful man in the land. I get that it's for her protection but come on give the girl a break. She finally thought she was happy only to be deceived by the man she put her full trust in. That slap wasn't enough for me.

I have a feeling Ti lan is dying probably during childbirth because I'm thinking they might go the route of Hai Shi raising her son with the Emperor instead of Haishi herself being the biological mother of a child with the Emperor like in the novels since they decided to skip the love triangle. So she'll probably raise the future prince like her own which makes me think they might be going with the emperor and Shifu dying at the end too. Could be wrong but that's my speculation for now.

Wow Hai Shi is one feisty lady, they had to tie her up to calm her down. I love it. YM looked gorgeous in EP 35 and 36. I will say the last two episodes have been the best of the series so far. I loved everything about it.

Should have kept her that way. Honestly a clairvoyant and blind would at least have kept her character interesting instead of just one dimensional love interest to be doted on. I also wish they kept the triangle with Ji Chang at least that could have added to a part of his motivation of why he’s plotting against his only brother. So much wasted potential.

Not ZhouYing and Haishi stressing me out fighting against each other, they are the only relationship I care about and seeing them against each other was so sad and painful to watch. I'm glad the trust ZhouYing had in Haishi was not misplaced. They remain the best sibling/bestie relationship on the show. So sad they are separated for now.

So seems like Emperor has fully embraced Ti lan and has come to care for he , I still don't think he's in love with her but their relationship seems to have progressed for the better so much so that he's willing to make her Empress. Will that still be the case when Haishi becomes involved in his harem? I'm just going to say it and I know a lot of people like their relationship but Ti lan really has added nothing much to the plot for me. She is basically just a certified love interest who's only purpose is to further the Emperor's story. I know nothing about her motivation for anything, she cares about the Emperor because he's nice to her? That's it? Any normal functioning human being should be nice to people that shouldn't measure how people should care for each other. Yeah what a waste? They could have had her scheming to take over the throne so she can better the agenda for her own people. Now all she does is dotes on the Emperor and yep pretty much that's it really. I almost wish she's the person, the Eunuch Shi is working for and is so adamant not to reveal but they are not that creative so I think it's probably general Tang.

Haishi and Shifu I have made my thoughts known on this two and haven't seen any chemistry with them but as they say chemistry is subjective but at least there is progress there since Shifu has finally vocalized his feelings and is willing to build a life with her. Unfortunately that's not happening soon with the enemies still very much at bay and plotting. But I'm happy there's at least progress there.

Why do they always have my guy Mu de Qing stressed always, they had him throwing snow and almost falling off the ladder just to make the emperor happy. Give the man a break please lol.

Lord Chang as a villain woo shocker there like we didn't all see that coming but I'm glad it's out in the open now so get to plotting and revelation to the emperor.

So it does seem like the emperor will be marrying or putting Haishi in his Harem because Shifu will ask him for her protection? And not because he suddenly falls for her. Which is good because out of the blue romance is not my cup of tea but I thought this would be a love triangle? Guess they chose a different route. But it does seem like he cares for Haishi even without knowing she's a woman, he tends to grant all her requests with no questions asked and when she requested resignation, he asked shifu to convince her otherwise and refused it.

Anyways as much as I've complained about the show, the action scenes and intrigue still keeps me very much engaged but it's definitely a show I will not be repeating. I have watched eternal love and legend of fuyao a couple of times because they were so good but this is one that will be a watch once and done. Bring Youdu back I miss his pretty face onscreen.

Just all caught up to Ep 30. First of all ep 36 preview looks so good, I'm looking forward to that episode, side note: Yang Mi looks gorgeous in that preview. One thing I have to give credit to this drama for is their costume because everything I've seen so far has been beautiful. Even the "princess" and Shifu's wedding outfits were just stunning. Also is it sad that I shipped Youdu and Haishi more than I've even done with her and Shifu. Youdu and FL's chemistry was impeccable and so good. Sad when you have more love for a supporting character than the ML. He's gorgeous. caring and self sacrificing his love for HaiShi so she can be happy with the man she loves. We all need a Youdu ladies. Now at this point I'm over the push and pull of ML and FL, they need to either move them forward or just let Haishi have feelings for someone else. The same repetitive Shifu shutting down Haishi and her proclamation of feelings is annoying now. Even Ti lan and the Emperor have moved forward and they were hella toxic. I'm glad the Su Ming chapter has been closed so I'm kind of intrigued on who the main villain is because before fake princess died she mentioned a man, so who is that man? Is it General Tang or the brother who I still believe is playing at been weak. As much as I love and hate certain parts pf this drama, one thing about it is it keeps me engaged so pretty excited that we get episodes everyday now.

It’s taking a lot of patience to hold off watching till Friday because I like to have at least six episodes to watch back to back then 4 on Sunday. But just saw a picture spoiler on Twitter that might indicate that they somewhat follow the book ending with Haishi and the young future emperor ruling. Who’s child it is remains the question.

That was brutal watching that kid stab Shifu and die all because of his grandmother's vindictiveness. That child didn't deserve that. Also I'm very confused on how the whole Emperor and Hai shi storyline will happen, from the trailers it looks like he seems to be falling for or at least cares for Ti lan but from the other trailers, he seems to be somewhat possessive of Hai shi (talking about the scene where it looks like they are in a snow like environment, with the long hair and him putting his coat over her forcefully it seems and taking her away with Shifu looking away). If Shifu asked him to marry her for protection which I've seen some speculation about, why would he act like that? That's clearly jealousy. Anyways hopefully they don't invent out of the blue feelings for the emperor, at least let us understand why he decided to marry her and make her empress if Shifu didn't ask for it. The talk they had at the end of EP 24 was a good foundation I think.

Shifu and Haishi was just plain sad, at this point I need her to stop. She's done all she can to let her feelings known and he keeps rejecting her so at what point does it become pathetic if she keeps trying. I'm glad she said she wouldn't make a fool of herself again because I can't see my girl going out sad like that. One thing I really like so far about the FL is that she never really lets her emotions affect how she treats others or her work.

ZhouYing and Zhelui are so sweet together, I love how Haishi always teases him about her and outright told him to man up and share his feelings.

Ti lan and the Emperor are just angst and more angst, I really don't know what they plan to do with them. I also feel like they need to give Ti lan more POV on her feelings. She said she hates how the Emperor treats her but does that translate to her hating the emperor himself? Not really sure. But it's obvious the Emperor is starting to care for her, the jealousy at Haishi and him going nuts when he finds out she could almost die now will that translate to love is the question? Especially considering he decides to marry someone completely different and makes her Empress. If he cares or loves Ti lan why not just make her the next empress? Hopefully the upcoming episodes clears up some of these questions.

Episode 20. Why would Tilan do that? Impersonate Zizan when she knows how much of a touchy subject that is for the emperor. I understand wanting to help your people but that seemed too far, using someone's trauma for personal gain is never cool. Also I can see why the Emperor keeps saying Ti lan and Zizan were complete opposites. Zizan could see what her father was doing and unfortunately I think Ti lan is still naïve to her people's faults. Also I tried but I can't just see the chemistry with the FL and ML I don't know if it's the coldness of Shifu that makes it hard for them to sizzle. Sucks because I've seen a lot of YM dramas and this would be her first pairing that I have felt nothing for. The most I saw of their chemistry was the bed scene when he fed her medication through a kiss. Anyways I still enjoy the show, acting is wonderful on everyone's part and Haishi and ZhouYing still remain my favorite relationship.

I don't know what Douban is but I've never cared for reviews or ratings because I like to form my own opinion instead of it been formed for me. But a 4.9 is quite harsh, but it is what is. As long as people watch and enjoy it, who really cares?

Finished 13 and 14 and wow that battle scene was amazing, the sequence and coordination and YM really knows how to make her fight scenes look so good. So I'm guessing Zhuo Ying is an actual twin and is from the Huku tribe because we just saw his carbon copy at the battle, fighting with the Huku people . We really don't know much about his background so that will be an interesting revelation.

Never mind just checked again and they just released 13 and 14 so off to watch.

All caught up to ep 12. I thought 13 and 14 would have been released as well but I guess it's a different cadence for Americans?? Anyways really liking this far better than I thought I would. The acting especially from YM has been great. I could feel her pain in ep 12. Also I initially thought the Emperor was going to be one dimensional evil and I'm finding that there are layers to him and apart from his treatment of Tilan (which I find understandable somewhat), he really isn't a bad person. My favorite relationship is still between Hai Shi and Zhou Ying. They crack me up anytime they are together and the way he always goes to bat for her is so sweet. I love non romantic protective familial relationships.

I'm watching on wetv. I paid for the vip sub specifically for this show.
