If you have seen the japanese series or manga then you probably wont like this version. I havent seen either, and I dont like the thai version very much. The first 2,3 eps were acceptably slow cause they were introducing the characters, But then after that it just becomes tedious and repetitive. Every ep is Gemini talking as if he is constipated and is having trouble finishing a full sentence while trying to stay awake and forcing the last words out. Fourth is over reacting to almost everything while trying to be overly cute like a manga character but with opposite results.
If you are a die hard GeminiFourth fan, then yea, you will probably like it despite all the criticism.
But the majority consensus at the moment is that this series is dragging, and has too much product placements. Also the writing and acting isnt anything the ppl find captivating.
Im just finishing this right now cause there arent any other new GMMTV series due to the Olympics and I dont like dropping shows.
But bare in mind this is just MY PERSONAL OPINION about the show.

Honestly, I think the director put more effort into working the sponsored products into the show than into giving the actors well written characters or a decent story for the show.

LOL how and when was I mean? You posted an opinion for discussion and I questioned some of your supporting statements.
And from your reply, again, you are basing your opinion mainly because of your personal experience and similarities to the japanese series. None of your reasons as to why this series is "good" are based on facts about the directing, the acting, story telling, or product placements. So to put it simply: You like it cause it connects to you. none of YOUR reasons as to why this series is "good" explains or supports factual reasons about the quality of the show. You like this series not because you find the acting good, or that its well written. And why does it matter if he is a virgin? HAHAHA that is the dumbest reason ever. You dont know he is a virgin. He has never dated, doesnt mean he has to be a virgin. And being a virgin has nothing to do with how he reacts to dating.
And if you like it cause it talks about young boys falling in love and dealing with how ppl perceive them or how a boy has fallen inlove with the best looking boy in school, well then, here is a big surprise; THERE ARE PLENTY OF BLS THAT DO THE SAME!!!!
And the whole reason you bring up about how they are asians, and they worry about how their family and family will react, that is not even accurate. Yes, they are worried how their moms will feel if they are dating, but they arent worried that their frds find them gay. They are more worried about their frds finding out they are dating and not telling them about it. For lying about being single. You didnt even fully understand that part in the series.
Atom's character is supposed to be dorky and cute. He is supposed to be likable. But currently Atom is annoying. His character is portrayed as a dumb at times and childish at other times. Many viewers dont find his character likeable.
Bottom line; you ; you like this series because it connects to you. Thats ok. But dont try to explain you like it because of the story telling or acting. And your comments about why this is as good as the original cant be considered valid. You dont even fully understand what the show is talking about. Not every "first time dating a guy" story involves the couple being afraid of how ppl perceive them. And what is this "if ppl will look own on them" thing? That may be how you felt, but that was not the case here.
btw, I have never seen the original. So my opinion about this thai version is based on what they are broadcasting. So if this thai version is giving me and other ppl such opinions about it, imagine how those who have seen the jap version think about the thai version. The majority of the viewers are currently not liking the show. And im sure many of them have had the same life experiecne with dating a boy same as t you. And dont even try to explain how being a gay asian is like. Many ppl here and most of the viewers are asian. We dont need a european boy to explain or teach us what its supposed to be like having conservative asian parents.
So maybe dont go around telling other viewers what they ought to do, and how they are"wrong" for not liking the show or not understanding it when its more obvious you are the one having trouble understanding things. And stop projecting your personal experience onto the show, Just because it reflects some aspects of your life doesnt mean it has to be a great show for others and it doesnt reflect gay couples dating experience everywhere, especially not in asia. Have you ever even been to an asian country?

First of you say the ONLY thing they changed is the teacher's sexual preference, then you say they changed some bits from the manga and original series. So which is it? Did they only change the teacher or some other things too? You are contradicting yourself in your first statement already.
Secondly your love for the secondary couple is your preference. It doesnt reflect the quality of the show or the directing or writing of it. You are saying because you love them it makes the show great? And what does the chemistry of Chokun and Pahn have to do with Gemini Fourths real connection to them? What are you trying to say?
Third, I think you are not understanding some(or most) of the criticisms. Ppl are saying the writing is weak, the directing is poor, the actors potential are not being utilized properly because they are portraying such bland characters, and the amount of product placement. It has nothing to do with respecting the original version or the author or not. Just because the japanese version is good doesnt mean the thai version has to be good also. Thats the same as all the ppl who are saying this show must be good because GeminiFourth are the lead actors.
Lastly, you say this show is supposed to be relatable for those that remember their first love, but I dont believe anyone would fall in love with ppl as comical as those portrayed in the thai version. Atom is on the verge of being annoying. Ppl are tolerating the character only because its Fourth portraying him. IF they used someone else Atom would be a hated character long ago.

Kongthap talks as if he had been shot with a tranquilizer and cant stay awake. Atom on the other hand talks as if he was constipated. After every 3 or 4 words he has to take a pause and push the remaining words out, then ending the sentence with "nai".

What annoys me is that all other main couples have their own fandom mascot now. Even Great and Inn. Why do SeaKeen not have one yet. Are they not considered a cp yet?

I have neither read or watched the japanese version too. So these impressions are purely based on from watching this tha version

I think the director looked at the japanese version and the manga, then told Gemini and Fourth to act as exaggerated as possible so they could be live manga characters. In Gemini's case; instead of being reserved he should try to be stiff and emotionless like a robot. And Fourth's case he probably wanted Fourth to act as if he had been hit in the head and has some mental handicap at times instead of a 18/19 yr old high schooler. (Bare in mind the actors are only doing as they are being asked to)
But in all seriousness the problems I feel are coming from the director and his concept and how he perceived the japanese manga out to be like in real life. He didnt quite get the jump from manga to reality.

They went to 2 places and a camp. I doubt those were expensive trips

-you have never left your country and have never seen the world
-you are some little ignorant kid who just got their masters degree
-you wasted money if you were able to get a masters degree
How can someone who is supposedly smart not be able to figure out why the top airing list is mainly gay shows? if this site was a japanese one, want to bet the top aired shows would be anime? Would you need to have someone explain to you why that would be too? Or would you assume all of japan is made up of anime characters? Lol

HAHAHA you just answered your own initial question. The TOP AIRING SECTION.....obviously and literally that means the most popular or most viewed shows. How does that translate to "only gay" shows? You are asking. if there are only/mainly gays in thailand, and you have the guts to tell me I dont know what Im talking about? Have you ever left your country? Ever seen the world?
