Did that one episode when Gong Zi went to the palace to meet with the king, the woman who was boiled in that pot, was that his real Mom? Or was that another woman?
I'm only on Ep 1 of The Legends and wow she looks just as beautiful as Tiffany Tang or Zhang Jing Tong (Madam…
Hey I'm watching Bloody Romance right now and I think Bai Lu could have really excelled in this lead actress's role. I could totally envision her in this one as the lead female.
LOL! This is too funny! But I loved that show. Back then I searched for a figurine of ABBA for a while (sigh)But…
Appa you mean? Ew Netflix, no thanks. I don't think anyone besides Asians or Asian actors/actresses can make this good. They tried to make a movie of it and it failed (Westerners)
yeah i know xD i did mention that at the end of my review but it's hella long so i doubt anyone would read all…
Hey do you use Viki, what's so good about it?
I already have Amazon Prime, though I mostly just watch dramas free on YouTube or Kissasian.
Is it really worth it to use Viki just for subtleties in English subtitles? Or do people enjoy it because of other features like the live comment feed or whatever?
I tried searching for some dramas on there and it seems like it actually doesn't have a wide range of shows. For example, I tried looking for Tribes and Empires: Storm of Prophecy and it didn't have it.
The director needs to make Avatar: The Last Airbender drama. All these clans and tribes look like they could be Fire Nation, Earth Kingdom, Air Temple, and Water Tribe.

I checked out Legend of Yun Xi and I did remember seeing the opening trailer of this when previewing a bunch of dramas. This definitely looks cohesive and good!
Also found another two dramas that might actually be worth watching, as in its actually good, not just due to being overrated or inflated ratings.
1. Bloody Romance 2. Tribes and Empires: Storm of Prophecy
Fan girl here. She replaced Yang M I for me. she is such a great actress and she looks and acts so down to earth.…
Hey I think you're right about the gender bender aspect. She does have a physique that can pass as a male but yet strangely still feminine. I hope she gets better roles with better produced dramas in the future.
I am only on Ep 2 of The Legends but not really interested in it so far, other than watching Bai Lu. The set design and overall production looks sloppy from props to CGI to fighting scenes. Its not really a cohesive production.

They wanted a more close up photo I guess.
I think I might drop The Legends, as much as I want to keep watching for Bai Lu, but the drama looks bad so far. Only in Episode 2 but already noticed bad fighting scenes and poor set design and props.
Maybe I will continue later but its all over the place. Some good set designs here while others bad, some good CGI then some horrible.
I know dramas do have imperfections but this drama has too much noticeable ones.
So after Princess Weiyoung, The Untamed, and Nirvana in Fire, I am trying to find a drama to watch next. Out of the many dramas I am watching, only couple episodes each, I am on Episode 2 of this one and I am beginning to question the high ratings so I went to read the reviews.
Good thing yours came up cause I already have same sentiments. The set design and props look half-assed, like they were committed to doing it then didn't finish or put in some furniture or somethings that didn't fit as intended. For example, the damn Sifu who was sitting in that dark bamboo forest, he didn't even sit level with the ground, he was like tilted LOL
and the scenes are jumping around way to quickly, like 1 second per scene.
Also in Ep 2 I get a glimpse of the fighting and its severely lacking, its mostly CGI and the lead actress defeated everyone by doing a jump kick with both legs.
Only reason I'm interested in this is cause of Bai Lu but it might be hard to digest this entire drama if I have to watch the bad set design and story.
Though the same director also did The Untamed in the same year 2019 so I wonder if maybe somehow this was rushed and he focused more attention on the other drama. Cause this one you can tell Lotus Pier and Thousand Dust Pavillion had some semblance but was worse done than the Lotus Pier in The Untamed.

Strange how you didn't write a review for either those dramas lol instead you wrote one for PWY.
After PWY, I watched The Untamed and Nirvana in Fire, so now I'm switching between many dramas to see which one to stick with.
I watched General and I, TMOPB, Ashes of Love, Goodbye My Princess, Story of Yanxi Palace, Story of Ming Lan, Nirvana in Fire 2, The Legends, and Heavenly Sword and Dragon Sabre but nothing is sticking so far.

If you're looking for a romance in a historical drama, this one I would highly recommend.
The story is simplistic but the chemistry is great. They are real life couples anyway.
