Hey! I did watch this drama... and there's no romance 🥲 However, I recommend you to watch this drama because Go Soo has acted exceptionally in this.
I am planning to binge rewatch when i have some time.

You echo my feelings about this drama. This had a potential to be amazing but the execution was disjointed. I'm…
Guessing it's just the end. I'm not sure what MJ realized. Was she wondering about the knife she found at HS's place. They showed that the Choi's had a phobia of sharp objects - so the knife shouldn't have been in sight/so easily accessible. Was succeeding in getting her revenge was the gift HS gave MJ?

Edited to add:
HS was taking some kind of meds (probably antidepressants) I think the death of MJ's parents haunted her. All 3 characters had layers to them - they weren't simply evil or nice. So HS alongwith being an entitled rich brat might also be feeling guilt all these years. We weren't shown much of HS - did she figure out MJ's plan of revenge against her Dad? (I might need to rewatch)

I enjoyed the drama a lot, but imo the final twists weren't executed well, my main problem being with inconsistencies…
You echo my feelings about this drama. This had a potential to be amazing but the execution was disjointed.
I'm particularly irked by the way the murder was pinned at JH, when they clearly showed the detectives getting crucial evidence against MJ. The audience had already figured out that she stabbed HS and later it's revealed that JH rigged the villa.
Hate when the script ignores what they had revealed and moves on with a narrative against logic 😅 I guess MJ being the "main" character got the plot armour.
P.s. Go Soo really was great in this drama. If the script demanded the character to be evil, psychotic yet sympathetic - he delivered it in aces.

The best ending Tae suk could ever get - away from the soul sucking Ji yoon and Dong Hwa. All they did was made him miserable. He looked the happiest away from them.

Title Age of Innocence Spoiler
Someone who sacrifices one's own feelings for others, is expected to keep on being the giver until the end. If the person chooses themselves over the other even once, it's considered betrayal or being selfish. That's Tae suk - always expected to be the giver - keep on sacrificing despite everything.
Tae suk deserved so much better. Everyone was so cruel to him from his so called best friends to even his dad (to some extent) and the narrative!! I'm just glad that ep 13 allowed him to speak out why must he be the one who has to give up. He is hurting too! He is suffering too on his own, trying to solve problems and overcome the hurdles that his "best friend" created to punish him - trying to do his best all alone!
I was really upset for Tae suk throughout the drama - although I'm glad that Ji yoon didn't choose him. The way she was so wishy washy, uncertain about her feelings, expecting him to stay by her side when she moves on with someone else (where did she get such entitlement). Tae suk would have had to live up to her expectations - again, be a giver.
I take relief in the fact that Tae suk meets a beautiful girl at the end. That's my happy ending for Tae suk - falling in love with a girl who holds no agenda, (except maybe impressing him).

Title Age of Innocence Spoiler
Dong Hwa is such a whiner. Gosh repulsive, misogynostic character. Hated the way he ordered around the FL and later to Tae suk. Without the inheritance he'd be a loser with a rapsheet. Such a red flag character was propped up by the narrative and supporting cast and later rewarded by making him end up with FL.
How many times did the FL tell him, she didn't love him/had not grown any feelings for him only for him to keep on insisting that he won't breakup. The attempt to white wash his character at the end by turning the raging, abusive, violent man into a "saint" who gives up his love for his friend was pathetic. This sudden change only reimposed the fact that he has an overbearing controlling attitude, temper tantrums are second to his nature.
Hated how his whining was what made him get the sympathy from others. Blaming Tae suk for his dad's health when he himself fought his dad that caused the stroke. Insecure, incomptent fool!
The narrative really tried to paint him as a good guy, but that didn't work when he shot his friend in the back over a suspicion. Making Tae suk say that Dong hwa is in the same position that he was in 7 yrs ago was a low ball. Tae suk never attacked physically Min su. He lashed out in irritation because of Minsu's pestering. Tae suk harbored guilt over it for years. Just lip service doesn't make up for the lack of conscience on Donghwa's part. He acted in cold blood. It was a planned move, which the narrative pushed aside - didn't even let Tae suk's dad bring up the topic of his son getting shot. Tae suk could have very well died despite a back wound!
So infuriating!!

I organized this like this: first TIMELINE, then CHARACTERS - who they are, what they do, how they relate=============================TIMELINE…
JH gets autonomy over his company and the Group loses its shares of profits from the split. Its more about money.
The VC was sent surveillance pics of his son and daughter in law who is expecting a child. So basically threatening harm to his family. That's why the VC backed out of the legal investigations and agreed to the separation of JH's Co from the group. I keep referring to this Co as JH's Co because he is the founder and his company was acquired by the Group Co. (The Group could have made investment in his co, esentially providing funds)

The company is in some ways related to his identity. In ep 1, JH says that entering the competition is his declaration to get out of Mono Group's shadow. Maybe he is tired /doesn't want to act on the Chairman's orders or be associated as someone who works under the Chois.

As for JH's past - its not said clearly, but we know that he is an orphan. His "friend" circle is interesting - Assemblyman's daughter who is in the same line of business as him; GF Heesu and Ria who has connections to blackmailing gang.

Not sure if i put this across coherently.

I can help u understand the business stuff a lil bit.
JH met the Vice chairman in 3rd ep and said he has to honour the contract terms - If his company achieves the profit target - it will be allowed to exist as a separate entity. This contract (Articles of the Co) was made when his company (Mono Architect) was incorporated in 2022. The VC stalls him since their company is in chaos due to sudden death of the Chairman. The legal/audit team had started to look into JH's company probably to check if the profits shown are true or not. If it's inflated - the VC can refuse to honour the contract terms (since they aren't truly fulfilled).

On the day of Villa explosion, the restaurant lady said she saw someone coming to the villa who could have been Jun Ho. She was not sure. Do u think JH's alibi to Germany was faked?
I honestly don't think he has a strong motive to kill the Chois. The contract takes care of him getting his Co out of the group and breaking up with HS wouldn't be hard since they didn't seem to be in love anymore.

I think same as you regarding JH and MJ's relation. JH is trying to protect MJ even if it means taking the blame for the murder. He was on the verge of tears when confessing and for some reason I believe he is the character with the least motive to kill the Chois.
He has a contract (Articles of Incorporation) to get his company separated from the Group Co, if his company meets the profit target, which he did - not enough of grounds to kill off Chairman Choi. And Heesu finding about his affair - breaking up wouldn't be that hard considering they were falling out of love/ not on the same page anymore.

If JH is the one who rigged the villa - then he's not really smart.

Ep 6 in short is Jun Ho saying 2 truths and 1 lie. (I do not believe what he said to MJ is the whole truth! I'm waiting for a plot twist ^^) What's JH truly hiding that he would rather confess to that "crime"? After all the revealation he still goes to meet her doctor alone (!) and refuses to act on his advise. Does he think after his confession any sane person would ever stay under the same roof as him, especially MJ who probably hates his guts?
P.s. Hats off to Go Soo! He made JH unsettling and despicable but there's also an undercurrent of vulnerability in some scenes.

But then he gave it up. Did you understand the explanation that the Senior gave for that? ep 6 min 21.. and JH's…
I actually do not really get the reason why Jun Ho went and confessed to Ahn Nae Sang's character. It's not as if the other rival wasn't using unscruplous means to get an advantage in the competition (cozying up with assemblyman and sending thugs to intimidate him). Was it because he had hired a guy to surveil the Vice chairman's son and DIL, so he had some assurance of getting his way with the company? From JH's flashback it seemed as if he had almost completed his model, so it seemed out of the blue to pull out of the competition that he desperately wanted to win.
The senior did however concluded that there must be something more important than the competition - and that's stopping MJ from finding the truth /past 😅

Jh was esentially a gigolo
In my opinion, I don't really see that. From what conversations JH had with the minister's daughter and the judge (Ahn Nae San's character), it seems Heesu's dad acknowledged his talent/skill. What's not revealed to us is, if JH got into Mono architecture through dating Heesu or did he get involved with her later?
I think his sketchy past is to do more with his parents death(?) and any subsequent delinquent phase he might have went through. My theory relies on JH's convo he had after being intimidated by rival company CEO. Didn't seem like he was lying to her at that time.

Loved the opening scene of Ep 4. Go Soo truly did a remarkable job with this role. It was so eery to see him bewildered, face off with his smug version. Ji Hye too with the way her character is becoming more expressive as her memories come back.
Both our leads have seen themselves come face to face against their "evil" versions in their dreams.

I like these two ongoing plots - MJ finding the truth, JH making moves in business while having to keep track of MJ. The architecture business stuff is important for JH (is he ambitious or greedy?). He wants his company independent from Mono Architecture, and the competition (probably by winning the Museum contract) seems to be his way of establishing his name.

Ep 3 revealed the trios relationship - Myojin can't believe she broke her best friend's trust, she was distraught. I wanted to yell at her when she kept calling herself trash - girl, you don't even have your memories completely back... can you hold the self judgement off for a while!! Memories can be distorted. If we normal people skew our memories, wouldn't that happen to someone who was involved in an accident!

Junho and Heeso didn't seem to be that in love. He tries to stop her from recklessly taking her meds, and she lashes at him. There's a power/status mismatch. What's JH supposed to give in return for Choi's favours?

JH and MJ share the same goal - and that's Hee soo's dad. He is somehow involved or responsible for their tragic pasts.

Go Soo's portrayal of Ryu Junho is very unsettling. Kudos to him! The way we can see he is concerned and does truly care for Myojin through his actions. But he isn't trustworthy, not when he lies about her past and especially when he confronts the doctor and purpots that either he is bad guardian or the doctor is a liar!
