Can anyone help me? I'd like to know how to tell a married woman from an unmarried one just by looking at her clothes and hairstyle. I'm just fascinated by the dressing codes in ancient China, not just in the Ming dynasty, as in TRTS, but in other dynasties as well. Thank you in advance

Unfortunately I have to agree with you. I love everything else about TRTS so far, and I think it could be one of the top historical idol dramas of the year (if it stays at this level till the end). DYX has a bit of mannerism in his acting, but I think he is anyway better that most of the other idol actors. BUT his make-up is quite distracting: unbelievably smooth face skin, those eyebrows and, above all, the lipstick, not fitting at all with his harsh life conditions. Even when he is injured or beaten up you can tell that it’s only make-up.
I think that NH’s uncle, GCY, is still alive - we didn’t see him die- and SYM was sure that he was alive till the end of the original script. He will use CGH to rebel against the emperor and NH will fight against them. Actually the ending will be similar to the script one, but with NH and CGH swapping their original intended places. CGH will kill NH (as for the trailer) but hopefully (🙏🏻) we’ll have a HE in the real world. As I previously said I think that SGH is going to die and SYT will marry NR who’ll become emperor in the script world. I didn’t read all the previous comments so I don’ t know if someone else has already made these- or similar- predictions.
This drama is a loving critique and homage to costume dramas but it is also such a great example of what all good…

My prediction ( not spoiler): I do agree about the “tragic ending”, particularly for NH, but I also think (and wish, and hope, and pray for) that we’ll have a HE in real world, because in ep.32 SYM said something about trying to find a way to take NH to her world. And I also think that SGH unfortunatly will die and SYT will marry NR, who’ll became the Emperor in the script world.
