I think it was made very clear why FL and SML didn't work out. Not only was he being pushed into marriage to the psycho, but when she encouraged him to marry and not rock the family boat, he did just that and did not fight for her and their love, so now she's over it.

If you recall the rainy car conversation she had with ML, she indicated that while she may act all stoic, she really wants someone who will fight for her and their love. That's what ML did when after seeing the gold bar teddy bear in her car, he flew to Jeju to fight for their love.

Actually, the seaweed soup was tasty according to her, but the sad part was she didn't get to serve it because of their spat.

I think I'm with you on the last two episodes. I rather tense while watching 8 because I feared a multi-episode breakup era. Also agree with you on the ending and her leaving baggage behind. She also finally opened up her heart.

Throughout the episode I was waiting for the FL to crack. She's acting very cheery and stoic, but there has to be a moment when she just falls apart.

I am very angry with the ML. You don't want to upset your horrible future MIL and halmeoni-in-law and THAT'S why you're moving away? I think that's the most cowardly excuse I've heard yet and am really hoping his mind is just all messed up because of the whole cancer thing.

Thank goodness uncle/aunt romance is coming to light. I hope no one dares to give two 40-something adults an ultimatum about their relationship and thank goodness her son will come to their defense, if necessary. I think the younger generations will also be on their side

The adoption segments were really well done and I actually felt a bit bad for Se Ri, whose actress did an outstanding job, even though I really do not like her character.

Angels above, please forgive me, but you know who I didn't feel sorry for? FL's mother, because she is so pushy and bitter. I couldn't muster up any sympathy for her, though I wouldn't wish breast cancer on my worst enemy. She's trying to act all reformed, but I bet the minute she finds out the truth about her daughter's love life, she'll revert to her original arrogant, mean, and pushy self.

I agree. It's like she is all business and can't wait to get away from him while he is totally overbearing. Five years ago she wanted him to pick her and he chose instead to unhappily wed a psycho. FL has gotten over the hurt and plans to stay over it. Have we even seen her crack a smile at him?

Off guard is a good way to explain it.

And she also ran in the opposite direction when she saw the black guy, which I side-eyed for a moment for the powers that be including such a scene, but could see she was just shocked to see him in the midst of a zillion other strange and unfamiliar things.

And thankfully our ML understood that and got on the next thing smoking to Jeju! :)

He did not fly to Jeju just because and she was packed up and ready to fly back home to him.

I don't see the couple as you describe them and believe they complement each other perfectly.

She is a very strong woman but has a lot of emotional scars. He is showing her patience because he can feel and see that she really cares for him. And she was actually coming around and was going to make him a marvelous meal until they argued about that case.

I really don't understand your description of him. He is kind and thoughtful and loving and patient--so much so, that even as hard as she tries to mask her vulnerabilities, she feels free to share them and her emotional scars with him. He is soooo good but he also doesn't hesitate to question and challenge her when it comes to work stuff, like this pending pharma scandal.

I don't know any woman who would turn him away.

She kissed him first and that was her way of letting him know she was finally coming to terms with her deep feelings for him. I also think she was on her way to the airport to fly home to let him know she's ready. She probably knew he'd see the gold bar bear in the car and hoped he'd remember their car conversation in the rain.

Maybe I'm over thinking, but I believe that when she parted ways with SML, she actually wanted him to take the lead and give up his chaebol fiancee and fight for their love, which he clearly did not do. Totally failed her test, which was also weird of her, but we know she has issues. In the rainy car conversation, ML said he didn't even try to find out why SFL suddenly left him (I think he clearly didn't care enough about her) and that he thought SFL wouldn't want him chasing her for an answer. FL said in the end she'd want to be chased for an answer even if it seemed like that wasn't what she wanted. That's why he flew to Jeju after seeing the gold bar bear.

I am enjoying this drama so much. Kind of missing 16 episodes, though. Hopefully soon the Kdrama writers can figure out a way to properly flesh out their stories without unnecessarily ruining the main couples and give us back our 16 episodes. Like use that time to develop your story and give us some happy couple time, people!!!

As soon as he complained about the hospital food, I knew she'd show up with the toast from that stand, lol. He also really cracked me up when he folded his arms and said, "I don't eat cafeteria food," lolol. I don't either!

Also love that his sisters knew she was at his side after he got hurt and was so worried about him.

I need to watch this episode again. I was so worried the first time about them breaking up.

And didn't it seem like she was going to do the right thing at the board meeting but her effort was usurped by the nomination of half-brother to become co-chairman, which she recognizes is part of some underhanded shenanigans?

She was seemingly actually on her way back home to him after telling SML emphatically that she wants/cares deeply for ML.

Also revisit the rainy scene in episode 7 in the car and you will understand why he flew to Jeju. And as a woman, I am loving it.

But seriously, she is a pain in the ass and needs to move out of that apartment. And what a dumb move at the end of today's episode. The PM team is really tight and actually really like their boss, and ML will figure out what she's up to, as well. In fact, he can say he's the one who initially received that photo and has already investigated it. Done and dusted!
