On Are You Human? Jun 17, 2018
I have to say, this drama is full of plotholes. Yet, it is probably the first one I find myself enjoying in MONTHS. I always have a really hard time finding dramas I like enough to finish, which is why I end up dropping most of them. Honestly, Are You Human Too? was my last try, and boy, so far, I don't regret it at all. Yes, the story isn't perfect. So what? I don't need everything to fit perfectly. For me to fall in love with a drama, I need:

- Consistency (no sudden change of genre halfway through either)
- An ambiance that fits the mood
- Good actors
- Captivating storyline
- Great OSTs

And you know what? This drama has it all. I'm completely immersed in the story, which is by the way, really interesting. The scenes are just so well done, everything is well executed. The OSTs fit the mood so well. The actors are, to me, amazing. And most of all, I actually care about what's happening. I don't feel like a simple spectator. This only happened with dramas like WYWS, Goblin or You Who Came From The Stars. The parts that are supposed to be heart fluttering actually make my heart flutter. Those who are made to be impressive have me getting chills.

I also don't get why everyone is hating on the female lead. Yes, you don't agree with her, you don't understand her, blah blah blah. Personally, I don't find her annoying at all. Without her and all the things she's doing, there would be no storyline. Things won't stay the same forever. She'll grow up. Even if you can't understand her motives, you can't deny she's completely different from the typical main leads. That may be why people dislike her that much. People are too used to the flawless and beautiful women leads. When a character doesn't do what she's expected to do, people always end up criticizing her and her actress (who's doing an amazing job). Maybe I'm the only one who likes her, though. Maybe she truly is an half-assed character and maybe I'm too relieved to watch such an imperfect character in action. Regardless of all that, I think it's normal if you still don't ship the leads because, well, NOTHING has happened yet, and I'm more than okay with that. Romance can build up slowly, I don't mind.

So, wow, this got really long. I originally just wanted to say how much I was enjoying this lmao. I hope I won't get disappointed by the next episodes to be released.

i've watched up until the 6th episode and i'd say both versions are really good. In my opinion, i love the japan's…
I had chosen to start with the Japanese version since you and other people said it was better, but I watched the first episode of the Korean one out of curiosity and I just couldn't stop after that. Thanks for replying!

God I love this... It's hard to find something that I think is really funny even though I'm not that hard to please. I have kind of a very shitty sense of humour so this type of simple and quite ridiculous comedy works better on me.

I watched the first episode and it made my day. I will continue to watch this for sure.

I think I might really like this but I don't know if I should start with the Korean version or with the Japanese version. Which one is better? I don't want to ruin the experience by starting with the wrong one.

I am very satisfied! To be honest, I wasn't expecting anything from this but this is exactly my type of drama! It's so calming and soothing to watch. I really like this kind of ambiance. There isn't a lot of dialogue but it doesn't need to have it because the silence suits the show very well.

Surprisingly, I didn't feel bored at all. I thoroughly enjoyed the episode and I was more focused on it than I usually am with dramas that have complicated plot.

God please save me, only an episode left then I'll be done with this torture! I've been giving myself reasons not to finish this for weeks. The plot just doesn't make sense to me, I don't even ship the two main leads because they're plain boring. Yeon Joo literally has no personality whatsoever and Kang Cheol's character is uninteresting. The acting's not that great either. I loved Lee Jong Suk as Jae Chan from While You Were Sleeping but I think he doesn't fit W's main lead.

At first, I didn't understand why I couldn't enjoy such a high rated show so I tried really hard to like it. Then I realized something: why would I force myself to like something that's just bad? At that point I kind of gave up on liking it and I decided to stare at LJS's face for the rest of the show.

I don't understand the hype. I consider W as another overrated drama.

after episode 1 I have a question - what happens when she's on her period? lmfao
Yeah lol I really don't know, people have been discussing it in the comments haha...
I just try to forget about that fact because I'm pretty sure we won't receive any explanation lmao

Is this worth it? I watched the first 5 episodes a few weeks ago. I liked some parts but I don't know why, it can't maintain my interest. Plus, everyone's saying that the ending sucks and shows with bad endings are the most frustrating...

Yes, thank you. It annoys me a lot because this drama is really good so far and I can tell that the second leads are there for a reason.

Same, god! At the beginning of the first episode, the girl looked cool and confident but she suddenly became really boring. Idk if that's what you meant but at first, I thought the umbrella blocked the ghosts or kept her from seeing them or something like that. But no, it has nothing special and I still can't comprehend why she still has it 25 years later.

I think I'm turning gay for Ji A, how can she be so cute? I'm not the biggest fan of romcoms because they generally kind of annoy me but I like this one. It's hilarious too, the scene with the crabs cracked me up. God, I really want Min Gyu to find out that she's human.

The crazy scientist ex-boyfriend should disappear. He's creepy af.
I don't like the main lead too much and I can't say that I love this show, but I definitely enjoy it.
On A Korean Odyssey Dec 29, 2017
Am I the only one who actually found it really interesting? I like the story a lot, I think it's funny and I really like the main guy.

Yes, there are some things that are bothering me, like the female lead and the crappy CG but honestly I had a lot of fun watching the first two episodes. I found it really entertaining and 1h30 felt like 30 minutes. Considering I'm very picky with dramas, I don't enjoy most shows that people like, but Hwayugi felt really refreshing to me.

I personally think it's very funny and yes, it has action.
On While You Were Sleeping Nov 18, 2017
I loved everything about this show. I got hooked on the first episode and it managed to maintain my interest until the end. I was fully invested in the drama: I wasn't once distracted by other things while watching it, and that's quite an achievement for someone like me. While You Were Sleeping made me feel all kinds of emotions. It made me cry a lot, but it was also funny and heartwarming at times. Also, did I mention the OSTs? They fit perfectly with the show and they are so incredibly beautiful.

I've never loved an antagonist that much. I've never loved a side character nor a main character that much. I've never loved an ending that much. I loved everything.
