I am seeing them retaliate because they are so grief stricken for all those years and then the reason for the grief was taken away from them. What else could they do, they already went through denial and protection mode by building a wall around themselves. That wall has now come down. Maybe the shock will appear again in later episodes.

I don’t think they are happy just moving on with their lives because they spent so many years in depression and caring for the mother. I would imagine the mother would want them to live on. I felt so sorry for them all, how hard would it have been especially for the mother to see her family suffering so 😭
