Is it worth it. Having doubts watching a show that tricks someone into marriage with someone else and then you want to marry them later. Seems strange.
I was excited to start this one but I have seen quite a few people who either dropped it or gave it a rather low…
Honestly, it’s just not that exciting. There’s no romance, no Bromance, no big plot twist, no ah hah moment, no mystery, no secretly witty or intelligent people. What I see is simply history presented in a series format. Although the scenery and wardrobes and even the cast are doing A good job there’s no thrill or person that keeps you entertained. The only reason that I continue to watch is because there was nothing else on and it’s a pandemic and I’m running out of things to watch. I will be honest it seems like the last 10 episodes may be the most entertaining out of the entire 63 episodes and that’s only because their focus seems to somewhat shift to what the synopsis is about. I waited for nearly 50 episodes to get to the point that they are talking about in the synopsis. The synopsis says that that the show is About marriage and the princess that is nooooot true. I’ve watch the story of Ming lan, I watched the story of Yanxi Palace and I watch Scarlet heart Rio. This series is nowhere near any of these and it it was like watching paint dry or sitting in front of a professor waiting for him to get to the point
Who wrote this synopsis?. I’’m on episode 51 of 69 and the princess ain’t married yet. The emperor is only slightly worried about marriage prospects. Misleading synopsis..
I’ve had my hope dashed a bit in the love department with this series but I’m excited to see who the princess becomes. She’s a force that’s enjoyable to watch even as a child.
I can understand the rating. Although the show was not awful it was a little bit depressing. I honestly could not power through the entire thing because it was just too much of the underdog staying the underdog. Please be mindful of the spoiler below;
imagine loving someone and that person being taken from you by your superior and you have no power to do anything about it so you just continue to subject yourself to being obedient to your superior and continuing to love a woman who is honestly given up on you and now loves a superior. It was just too pitiful. No redemption for the good guy just left out there. Can’t recommend this.
This show parallels something that is true of modern relationships as well. Men rarely fall for a considerate,…
from what I see the emperor is reaching and the empress is backing up. I’m on episode 20 and she still keeping her distance. There are really no happy fun moments. Their relationship sucks and now they will make him look bad for going to someone who wants him.
Your rating was lower than my 6, lol. I dropped it as well for the same reason. Manipulating someone for gain and then a smile after is not sweet. Everyone is hyping the chemistry up, but after 6 episodes I haven’t seen it, unless we consider her wicked wins, followed by her soft spoken insults as chemistry. It doesn’t matter if the roles were reversed either. Just saying we loved each other after that to flip it to compassion mode won’t cut it for me. Just no. It’s like slapping someone and smiling at them. It’s creepy, disgusting and unsightly.
