What I enjoy most about these types of shows is watching interesting and likeable real people, but that was lacking here.
The men in this show were mostly unlikeable, except for Jong-hun, who seemed like a nice guy, although kind of boring. Tae-won was a jealous hothead who I can imagine becoming abusive. Hyo-gi was also hot-tempered and just had a negative attitude most of the time. And despite the fact that he was the best-looking dude of the bunch, he was the least popular among the girls because of his bad personality. At first, I thought Do-hyung seemed like a steady, dependable, agreeable person. But then, I saw he also got mad at the stupidest things, like Ji-yu not being excited enough about their couples date. And also his lack of awareness when he went on about what a huge crush he had on Hui-yun in front of both Ji-yu and Hye-yun made my opinion of him drop.
The girls were better, except for Yun-sul, who seems like a real downer. There was too much plastic surgery though. Hui-yun and Hye-yun were my favorite members in the show. They seem like decent people, and Hye-yun especially deserved much better.
The commentators were totally boring and I ended up mostly skipping through their segments, even though Young-ji is the most beautiful girl in the entire show.
Not necessarily trying to oppose your opinion here, as I’m not much of a fan of that style as well, but looking…
You’re probably right, and you’re in a much better position to judge than I am since I only watched 45 mins of First Love, and didn’t really give it much of a chance.

Woo gave me a totally different feel than First Love. I thought it had a lighter touch and more joyful creativity, whereas First Love gave me that heavy-handed Hollywood feel.
I barely made it through the first episode before dropping it. I guess my tastes are differently from most peoples'. I don't understand the appeal at all. I don't like this style of directing and storytelling where every little thing is spelled out so broadly and it tries so hard to push your buttons.
I dropped this at ep23. I was bored by the slow, repetitive plot and the uninteresting characters. I'm sort of interested in what happens to Seo-young, but I don't like her character and her acting. I don't understand why she lied in the first place (if she's so proud, she would have told the in-laws the truth about her family and dared them to criticize her for it), and she continues to be deceptive and secretive all the way up to when I quit. And I hate her brother. He's such an asshole to his sister, to Ho-jung, and to Mi-kyung. Actually, the most likeable characters I thought were Ho-jung and the dad. The dad is supposed to be this selfish, irresponsible loser, but in most of the show, he's one of the most hard-working and decent people. You can see he was terrible at the very beginning of the show and in flashbacks, but that seems like a totally different person than the one shown in most of the show. But I had to turn the speed up to 4x when they showed Ho-jung's shrewish mom and lame dad, Sung-jae, the annoying mother-in-law, etc. I was just wasting my time with most of this uninteresting stuff, so I had to quit.
The best thing about this drama for me was Han Ji-hye, who was full of energy and charm, despite playing a real airhead of a character. She kept me going til the end, despite how cheesy the drama was.
