I've been watching Thai lakorns since I was eight lol...thanks to the beauty of Hmong dub. And everything you said is true. The main tip I would have for newcomers is to be aware and open minded of the culture of lakorns. In the past, there were more lakorns that involved sexism, rape, kidnapping, and slap/kiss which defined Thai dramas at the time. I believe even the past lakorns (like Jam Loey Ruk and Sawan Biang) that were popular at their times and went through reruns recently, were scrutinized because of its harsh genre and toxic pra'eks. Though there aren't much rape and slap/kiss these days, there are plenty of toxic couples and weak characters. You will see plenty of weak nang'eks (main girls) and pra'eks (main guys) who love saving the day and are toxic. Thailand is working on making their lakorns modern and accommodating to international viewers. I personally like the drama in lakorns because I know how ridiculous it is and it does get addicting lol. But I did like how you mentioned there are more than just BL dramas because that is certainly true. It's a good thing that Thailand is beginning to work on lesbian lakorns as well.

Ironically, I actually just started to watch BL dramas, as I've spent my whole life watching lakorns primarily from CH7, CH3 and ONEHD/CH5. Best of luck to those who want to watch lakorns!

Thai lakorns are very different compared to the other Asian Dramas. Thai dramas in the past really liked their rape scenes, slap-kiss, and harsh dramas (which many are strongly against). Watching Thai lakorns for more than 10 years is hard when the culture is demeaning to women. But Thai dramas recently have been improving. - I do wish there are more streaming sites that accommodate English subtitles, but like I said, they're improving and doing their best.

Title So Wayree
Can't express how much I dislike Gun. Prin is wrong and I'm not justifying his actions BUT Gun saw how much his…
Girl you're not alone. As much as Prin is wrong and I will never condone to what he did, I don't like Gun. Gun dropped his friendship so quickly with Prin and was so quick to misjudge him because of his feelings for Mitta. Given, their friendship probably wasn't even that good if they still called each other formally. And Gun's the person to not let his personal feelings get in the way of business, which Prin mocks in I think episode 5 when Silimantra and The Emperor are fighting to get Gun's hotel. I also don't like Gun is because he tries so hard to get Mitta to love him but he tells her he's a friend. And it's like every minute he's with her. He was so quick to say that Mitta will be the mother of his child. But even Prin knows Gun is better for Mitta, which in personalities and behavior, Gun is.

The OST is very melodic, I really love listening to the opening title of this lakorn. I haven't been watching lakorns subbed because I understand Thai to an extent. I watched the clips on OneHd and it's good from what I see.

I've been watching lakorns for too long lol so all of these are my guilty pleasure. I learned how to speak 80% Thai because of this. I think it's these tropes that I like Thai lakorns so much. I watched a few kdramas and Taiwanese, but only Goblin has truly affected me. For the time length, I heard it's meant to be long and have boring/draggy scenes because it's supposed to be used for socializing with friends and family with the lakorn in the background. In fact, I think watching kdramas and American TV shows are too short. I was watching Friends, Criminal Minds, and The Office and finished it in less than a month, thinking that there should've been more. And I'm thankful that they're going back to kiss scenes where there is actual mouth-to-mouth because there was a time where there were little to no kiss scenes which frustrated me greatly. - And the slap/kiss and rape is my guilty pleasure (I know that sounds so bad). I just love Thai lakorns hahaha, so if you need recommendations...I can always help you. -> If you're considering to watching lakorns or need to watch one, watch Bpoop Phaeh Sanniwat (it's light heart, cute chemistry, historical, the nang'ek is awesome and the pra'ek is charming. -> but there is a lot of political things in here)
