Monkey King's journey was on a religious purpose so even though he couldn't be together with the girl, his reincarnated self had the chance to be together with her. Therefore, I conclude it as a satisfactory ending rather than a sad one.
Stephen chow is amazing as always and FL (Lin Zhi Xia) is so beautiful. There was hilarious scenes as well. Honestly I love this more than the prequel as this got so elements plus emotions !!
