I just finished rewatching this drama and absolutely loved it!
The first time I watched it, I was thrown off by the slower pace of the drama and the fact that the main love story only really starts to blossom towards the middle/end of it. I skipped a lot of scenes for those reasons.
This time however, I really embraced all aspects of the show and was able to find true appreciation for all scenes. It shed light on the struggles of ancient Chinese citizens and especially ancient china‘s women in a very interesting way. The writing, acting and how the scenes were designed visually were all phenomenal.
