For the hiv part it was way earlier. I think he was 20? I'm not sure. I got confused with the time. But it was when he was in the military. It was before no young so and nam.

For the writer part, he wrote the book about his relationship with no young which got recognition. I don't think he became like super famous. It was in ep 7 he decides to become full time writer.

This is the confusion I got with the "which year each episode is" and how many years have passed. I was trying to pay attention to it. But still got some confusion.

Ko yeong and his ex were listening to the song which I guess Kylie the singer was singing. It was that time when he got infected with hiv. Again when he met his friends at the club that singer's song was playing so he decided to name his hiv Kylie. He said hiv is going to be with him for his life why no name it.

Imagine someone could not go for a better job because of you. Would you not feel guilty about it? It's the same way for ko yeong. His hiv is not curable like a common cold unfortunately. His hiv affects his life with others. As for the breakup, he wants gyu to live his life. He didn't want to say the words directly but indirectly saying they have to break up. The scene in the train shows that even ko yeong is affected with gyu leaving. In the other episodes, he still misses and thinks of gyu. He didn't even find someone after one year gyu left.
Ko yeong is complex character from the way he grew up to his failed relationships. It's not like when he found gyu magically all his trauma are gone. He did love gyu but he also neglected him which leads to them having a lot of issues. You could see the last episode, ko yeong starts to question a lot of things about his life. Eventually, he realised he needs to move forward. This can be seen from him moving out of that apartment. This suggests he is taking a step forward as he was attached to that apartment.
This is why a lot of people hated the serie because of the realistic part of it and was expecting a cliché romantic bl. The serie has heavy emotions and sensitive topic. It portraits real life situation where no relationship is perfect, no one Is perfect. When we met the right person, we even f up the relationship then later on we realised a lot of things.
This is why s2 is not needed. The ending is not that sad but rather a bittersweet one. At least ko yeong realised a lot of things about himself and decides to move forward. If one day he meets gyu, he is in a better mindset to be in a relationship with gyu.
I know it's long what I wrote, I hope this can help you understand a bit. Try to read the older comments on here. Some people did a better job than me in explaining it where it can help you.

It can get confusing with the time. From the start of the serie till the end, it's like 9 years passed. I got confused with it. When you watch it pay attention to the time so you won't get too confused.
The serie has a lot of emotional and sensitive topics. It can be triggered. If you are in a clear mindset you can watch it. Take some time in between if it gets too much.

You should give it a try. Ko yeong is young at that I think he was 20 and immature. The serie mainly on ko yeong and his relationship. His relationship aren't random. He wants a serious relationship which unfortunately failed along. Give it a try and watch it till the end. The serie is different from other bl, it has more of a realistic side of it. So I know you may feel like not watching it since it can feel heavy.
For me, the serie reflects reality that no one is perfect and no relationships is perfect. Ko yeong has a lot of faults but he is not a bad person. He is just a person who wants to be loved. I won't spoil much because it goes deeper in the serie. I hope this can give you a bit of clarity if you want to watch it.sorry if I am unclear

This ending is good because it helped go young to realise a lot of things. He was able to let go by moving out of that apartment he used to live in and move to a new one. In a sense he was able to move forward. Whether they meet again, I don't know. I think the novel ends the same way as the serie.

I was confused. Since she was involved in church and religious it was at the end of episode 4 that I felt she was scared of losing him. She accepted his relationship with the guy and kept the photo. I was confused

From what I understood did his mum send him to that I guess conversion therapy cause she is homophobe or scared of losing his son due to what happened to her marriage?

They aren't mature enough to understand the point of the story. They are expecting a lovey bl with the cliché romance

I love the serie. But I don't see the point of s2. The ending was realistic. He needed this type of pain to be able to improve himself.

Life is not perfect and not everyone gets their happy ending. This is a reality we seem to forget.

Don't mind them some people are just up hating or was expecting bl like those bl drama with the happy ending. Putting up a realistic queer/bl series they don't like it.

I think chapter 58 exiled is where the serie ends. I have read the novel it's very good. It shows more detail. If you are considering reading the novel, read as from chapter 1. You will get more insight. You won't regret it

Yeahh exactly at the hospital she wasn't there. I'm not sure but from what I have heard, in the movie at the end they also got some distance between them not because they fought but because they got busy with their life. In the movie it was after her marriage. I think ko yeong didn't want to bother her.

But in the serie, his group of friends were always here. I think the friendship with miae it was more about her. But compare with his group it was more about them.
I'm not sure how to explain it. You could see there was a difference but I could be wrong.

I have watched school 2013 and I loved it. Is this remake good? I don't want to compare but school 2013 has a place in the best kdrama I have watched.
