The ending sucks! I told all my friends not to watch it - unless they can stomach happy never after. This is my 2nd KTH drama (the other is Jung Ok Jung) and in both, no happy ever after for her. I am crushed.
I started watching this and was disappointed at the pacing in this drama at first. I didn't understand, until…
Yes I agree with you. Epi 14 was a shocker and finally explained why Gang Hwa had such a hard time all this while. I now get why his boss the Medical Director never fired him and kept giving him multiple chances. But I felt sorry for Gang Hwa because he couldn't even hug Yuri or console her (not wanting to spoil here) when something happened to Seo Woo but had to console MJ. He looked helplessly at Yuri knowing how it was even worst for Yuri. Even when he found out Yuri had been beside him along which tormented him, neither of them could console each other. So epi 14 to me is the climax when the walls came tumbling down. It was an epic episode.
why did just change the character from a girl to a boy
Yeah you have a point. Oh but @Maya Amina said the child actor resembles KTH most. And this is impt in the plot to arouse curiosity. That's what I think.
My first KTH drama was Jung Ok Jung. I loved her character and became a KTH fan. But I was crushed with its ending although it was expected since it was based on historical events. I am now dreading how HBM will end. When I first started HBM it didn't really excite me and I actually dropped it for a while. Then I resumed and never stopped because I was curious how it will end. I am a diehard romantic but this doesn't look like it can have an ideal ending. I think I will wait and binge watch the last 3 episodes...
WAIT I JUST FOUND OUT THAT THE CHILD PLAYING SEOWOO IS ACTUALLY A BOY!!!!! WHAT
OMG ! You are right! I was just wondering watching the 13th epi yesterday why Seo Woo's hairstyle never changed! I mean why would you make a child wear a wig?!
I am at epi 10 and enjoying this way more than CLOY - and mind you I am a huge fan of Hyun Bin. Each character in IC is so interesting and I like how each character evolves. The most pitiful character imo is not Saeroyi...but Geun Won. He is a victim of child abuse - physically and emotionally. The most despicable character is undoubtedly Chairman Jang. He is scum. As a parent myself, I can't help but feel sorry for his 2 sons. Geun Soo because he was neglected by both parents and abused by his brother, doesn't care about the business, therefore he says and does whatever he likes. I was wondering about Geun Soo's drastic move. Although his motive seems to be to win over Yi Seo, I'd like to believe that he has another hidden agenda - perhaps to expose the Chairman. To gain his father's trust he has to appear to ----- his connections to DanBam and Saeroyi. I hope I am right. I like GS and want to give him the benefit of the doubt. Let's see how it unfolds. My apologies if I am rambling. Was wondering if anybody else feels the same way. Hope I didn't spoil it for anyone :(
So starting off the drama was good. Kind of got dull half way but there are so many twist and turns, which keeps…
Maashipotata - You wrote exactly how I felt about this drama! From start to finish! Including LSG's and Suzy's acting chops! I got increasingly annoyed but curious at the same time - curious about how the story would unfold and curious about the good-looking actor who played Jerome and spoke excellent English!
It is puzzling that in a country where social media and selfies are rampant and people obsessed with smartphones, not a single bystander or even the ML/FL in the drama took pictures of Kim Woo Gi to prove that he is alive nor did the bereaved families take videos of the witnesses being shot at by the NIS/police to circulate online or send to the media . Very frustrating. NOT A SINGLE PERSON OUTSIDE THE COURT RECORDED THE SCENE! At Epi 12. Unbelievable! Just my observation.
I've just finished watching "Empress Ki" and now I can finally stop crying.....until the next drama at least.…
Agree with you point by point! Tal Tal and Ki Ysmg were intellectual equals and they had this deep unspoken admiration and respect for each other.. i have about 10 more episodes to go.
Thee best from start to finish is all I can say. ... oh and I ❤ Tal Tal!
Me too! He is the only intellectual equal to Ki Yang. Love his character - intelligent, strategic amd composed. I am at epi 40 something and I think he has a hidden admiratuon for Ki Yang. Last 10 episoded to go!
Six Flying Dragons is a very good sageuk. It is the only 50 episodes drama I've ever watched and I persevered because it was highly rated and had won awards. The story gets addictive around episode 30 (yes, it takes that long! LOL!) and then you can't stop. It was my first Yoo Ah In drama and I became a fan. He was sooo good in this - such a talented young actor. And such great chemistry between the 2 leads. This drama motivated me to watch Tree with deep roots which thankfully was half as long! I hope you give 6FD a second chance.
However I was puzzled about something and wondered if there was a plot hole in the drama. Eundong and Jaeho were in the US for ten years before returning to Korea with the son. But the accident that left Jaeho crippled happened just before he was going to start his professional baseball career in the US. So why did they still go to the US when Jaeho was already crippled? What did they do there - for 10 years?!
Finished this in double quick time because the story was so addictive I just had to see the next episode. And the next episode. And then the episode after. Although it is inconceivable that anybody would wait 20 years for someone, you are emotionally invested from epi 1 and dying to find out how they ended up in present circumstances and how she will recover her memories. You will go on an emotional rollercoaster but it is all worth it. Some great acting from the child actors too. Worth watching.
