Honestly, I never had hopes that her secret will come out one day cuz I understand what character she is. Plus, JinLin finds it out so late and decides to hide it too cuz he knows his wife's true personality. Her backgrounds was never a concern of mine (regarding both the Shen and Xu families) as there’s so much more to her personality than just names. She loves her family, but decided to show it in her own way by prioritizing her well- being. There are some truths in life that we can't share even with our loved ones, which really speaks to the complexity of human emotions. And that's one of the reasons I love this drama; it keeps you grounded.

I was eagerly waiting to see Xu Kai as the ML in here and I stayed only for him. I think this drama started with potential but later lost its shine and became so unbearably repetitive. Let alone the FL! Her character was poorly written, she blindly selfish and obsessed with revenge . She clung to Yan Ru (and sml whenever suited her) for her so called "REVENGE" jumping into marriages with no values or self respect. I realize this is a revenge drama, but even the revenge scenes weren't fulfilling! It's worth mentioning that I don’t hate the actress, but I she definitely needs more practice with her acting skills. Her blank expression made it hard to enjoy the drama. Like, if you're doing revenge scenes, wouldn't you bother to show some real emotions? I ended up skipping many scenes to keep up with the story, so I think it all accumulated to the point that I lost interest before the plot unfolded completely. The real turn-off for me was when Yan Ru returned from the capital and told her about his plans, but she insisted on pursuing her own way and marrying sml. She pushed him away in every way possible, yet he remained loyal to her (which looked unhealthy: trying to win over somebody who had already sold him out). I don't care that later, when they got married, she said she was mistaken cuz that wasn’t even a confession, it lacked honesty to me as we hadn't seen any growth in her personality throughout the show, making her eventual shift feel unearned. Therefore, I felt her character was written to be psychologically unstable when making decisions, or with very little appreciation for the one who loved and protected her ( I DK if it's considered as a flaw serving the plot, but it didn't help). Finally, the lack of substantial personality development and a cohesive narrative structure remarkably diminished the quality of the series.
I've never written any reviews on this site, as I was always reading comments silently, but today I've decided to break this silence!
All in all, it wasn't worth the wait and time.
