A well-written review that I can agree with for sure. Even characters who were very sex-positive have a path of learning in this show... reminding me that as soon as we assume we have somehow arrived, there is more to discover about oursleves. Thank you!

I have a prediction that these two (and some of the side characters) are kind of showing the opposite is possible. I think the ML gives sex hoping the door to love will he open - and how he watched his Dad treat sex... will we see about his Mom??? The FL was taught that sex only had one place... love first... but she shows love in such an honest way and it looks like it is ushering her towards the physical. It is rare to see a woman so empowered in her choices for intimacy outside of typically explicit tv. She lost her example of a male showing love without expectation and yet, her first experience, she says, "aren't you goint to be considerate?"

I enjoyed your review and agree. The characters really show that life and relationships are more complex than the logic and rationale of programming. I liked the team dynamic of the F4 Team A and how she also helped each of them discover how to address challenges. She was a master at resilience and problem-solving.

You practically wrote the post I have been pondering. I appreciate that the writer incorporated potentially real responses to trauma and ptsd. His first source of "love" (bc of abuse), was loaded with perfectionism and conditions... even though her free-spirited love brings some healing, he leaves her - causing a flaw, imperfection. It makes sense to me that he would want to come back and please or save the day with a high-level of skill. It also makes sense to me that after going so much trauma, she would not know how to respond. He hid his flawed family from her.
