Yes, because of voice actors. They are incredible!! Not only Jackie and Stephen Chow but also Robert Downey Jr., Will Smith, Chris Tucker and few others too. They are comedy actors and their voice actors presents their funny dialogues in local manners so they can create more funny environment! And also since childhood I watched Chinese/HK movies and TV shows in local language so I used to hear dubbed voice instead of real voice. Same for Shin-chan...I like dubbed version more.

36th Chamber is not funny but its one of those movies I watched in childhood on TV!

Usually like to watch with original soundtracks but in case of 36th Chamber and all Jackie Chan, Stephen Chow movies I prefer dubbed versions.

I found it on local TV in local language. If its dubbed in my local language then it should have many dubbed versions. I think I read somewhere that it was released on DVDs again with subbed version and dubbed versions. I had its DVD, it had Cantonese language with other dubbed tracks and subtitles in different languages.
