Really glad that this resonated with you. Tbh I don't know whether you have finished this drama or not, but I just couldn't bear it further after the 7th episode. The preview of the next episode just frustrated me enough to almost throw my phone at the wall. Like what the hell...I just dropped it without even adding it to my watchlist. Can't waste any further hours on this.
I could only find it on HiTv tbh..I wanted to download the whole series and watch it in one go but no site had this show so I ended up watching it on that app
I'm halfway through this drama and these are my thoughts—
The actors individually play their roles really well. No doubt about the good acting. But when they come on screen together it doesn't give butterflies instead it just comes out awkward. I'm a romcom veteran and just love this genre, but the leads just aren't giving it. Let me just point out all the problems I have with drama. 1. Lack of ML perspective– The 1st ep we get to see the FL somehow getting into gaming and meeting the ML in gameplay. She forms a connection with the player ML, chats with him and gradually falls for him. The ML too likewise falls for her and confesses. The teenage ML gets rejected. But we don't get to see the ML's pov through all this. The teenage ML journey until the disastrous rejection he faces. I waited all the while 2nd episode went by, 3rd...4th. Nothing! They gave nothing. We needed to see the other side too to understand why the ML grew up to be this stoic. Instead they put out comical music to him being rejected. To be honest I was kinda moved by his confession. For a teenage boy that confession was just perfect. The rejection by FL is reasonable since she was lied to. No problem with that. 2. Trauma build up– They should have shown us the trauma in the initial 6 episode. They only gave us the parents' accident and the evil grandma. Not the first love tragedy trauma. They keep hinting at how he changed after the rejection but they give us no perspective of it. The grandma also just comes and goes when she has to hinder the ML's trauma. AND who in the hell would she pass her inheritance if not the one and only grandson that she has. She's at the brink of her grave but oh so arrogant about the so called perfect successor. If she dies the next moment, everything that she build through the years would collapse if went into the wrong hands and not to the "perfect successor, the grandson". What does she mean by thinking of handling the business to management. Such a oblivious move Halmeoni. Your grandson is capable just show him some love you old hag. 3. Baby-fying the ML– I don't mind if they pressed on the fact that he is younger than the FL. Why would I? That's the selling point of this drama.! AND thats what I came for, Noona romance. But the baby-fying of the ML is just unbearable. The choco-uyoo and the plushies are soo in your face like they screaming OH LOOK AT HIM HE's SUCH A CUTIE! I can see that he has such interests but its overwhelmingly in your face. The cutie portrayal could have been done better. 4. The FL– If you just look at it in isolation, or maybe by the ML's perspective, she is just too loud and proud. Director killer is fine when the the director is actually worth killing like the perverts or the corrupted. But unnecessarily picking up fights with whoever seems to challenge her doesn't give good vibes. The initial 4 episodes, the FL is just stomping around arguing and insulting everyone even the new appointed director who didn't even bother her until she stomped her way into his space. Anybody in a subordinate position would know how to act with and around your superior. She also does not respect other people's privacy or secrets. Its not even much time and she oh so proudly says she beat the director in drinks and also almost spills secrets that could affect the director's image. She's a workaholic but has enough time to stalk and lurk around the ML after work hours to catch anything she could hold against him. *Eyerolls* 4. The romance build up– I swear its messed. Both the actors are good. I know cause I've watched their past dramas. MKY and CHW can romance, very well. I'm a romcom veteran and really enjoy this genre. I'm the type to squeal and kick my feet even when the leads just make eye contacts. But this dramas is not giving it for me. The chemistry is not chemistrying, its just dry. What's not making it work...I don't know. The direction, or the actors? They do have the potential to build a very cute chemistry of a younger man and older woman, cause ai can really see it their! Its right there but they don't push it to that potential. I don't know what went wrong. The episode in the countryside when they were pretending to be siblings had more spark than the romantic scenes. But even after all this, some element is still compelling me to watch it. ^^. I still haven't added this to my watchlist. No reason for that it somehow ended this way. Anybody relates to my points..do share your opinion. I'm right in the middle of the first episode, and I can't take this seriously. I don't know whats about it..the acting is all good. Maybe its the direction or the one scene being captured from different angles repeatedly or the production. Its gives soo much makjang vibes. I really can't take it seriously. I just find myself laughing at crucially serious scenes. Heheheheheh

It wasn't just me that thought this!! Thank u for saying this. But I guess the way everything unfolded it was probably a suicide. Like the scene where Ahjin enters his apartment and sits on the bathtub edge and we see a scene where Ingang and Ahjin are gazing at each other. Ingang in the bathtub, filled with water and his blood, gazes at Ahjin as he slips away to death. Since they didn't talk about beyond that, he probably ended his own life out of heartbreak and depression. HE WAS MY FAVOURITE CHARACTER OUT OF ALL THE MEN AROUND AHJIN AND HE HAD TO DIEEE?!! THE HELL!!
Matsuda x Kim Dogi was soo real..the bromance was fire...halfway even I subconsciously was rooting for them, Matsuda was ready to give the world to him(hahah^^) until Kim Dogi said "Her school break is almost over. Yi Seo needs to go back to school." Right, he's the bad guy smh.

The overall drama was good. All genres were well mashed up except for the romance aspect of this drama. It was really underwhelming. It really didn't change much of the course of the drama. Even if the romance wasn't there, I don't think there would be any significant difference to the storyline. They could have just kept it platonic or the FL could have been just too enthusiastic about serving her duty as a teacher that she joined to help the NIS. They could have just kept it this way and it still would be enjoyable. The only part the kept me going is the NIS team or more specifically the trio. They were just too hilarious and fun to watch. They totally hard-carried the comedy genre of this drama. Seo Kangjoon waa also great. This was just the right comeback he needed after discharge. Hopefully he gets the recognition he deserves and better dramas ahead. He is truly underrated.

Yeah this doesn't feel like the kind of drama where the father figure betrays him but I could always be wrong
Yeahh this might be it..he knows something and its something he wants to hide from Haeseong. I don't know why I want to keep this hope that the ML's father is alive, the chances might be low but I want to hope for it.
