The second season of I Became the Main Role of a BL picks up exactly where the first left off. Only now, the stage is set, not for introductions, but for deeper entanglements. We already know Yuichiro and Hajime. We’ve rooted for them, laughed with them, watched them stumble their way into something that looks a lot like love. Now, we get to see what happens when the confessions are out in the open, but the growing pains of a new relationship are just beginning.

And growing pains there are delivered, of course, with the same over-the-top drama and comedic flair that made Season 1 so memorable.

This time around, the tension leans into jealousy, miscommunication, and good old-fashioned romantic chaos. Hajime’s past shows up in the form of Haibara Ryunosuke (played by Furuya Robin), a familiar face that clearly rattles Yuichiro. At the same time, Hajime grows uneasy with how close Yuichiro is to Kuromiya Ryoga (Iwaya Shogo), his longtime friend. It’s the kind of circular jealousy that’s relatable, exasperating, and, thanks to this show’s comedic instincts, hilarious.
