I like it honestly, but I agree that it’s confusing at first. It’s definitely not one of my favorites tho. It gets better after episode 4 I think.

I hated it at first, now I love it. Most people are still in the "hating"-phase
So other than forcing another couple, I guess that Tin’s brother (Tul) storyline can kinda be there as a source of pity so the audience will not hate him as much. As far as I’ve heard, Tul and Hin’s story is very harsh and Tul has been through so much, so they might be trying to let people see what caused Tul to be so mean to Tin (jealousy or something?). I agree that it’s unnecessary and even does a disservice to Tul by trying to squeeze such a complex storyline into a series with so much going on already that isn’t centered on them in the first place.

I honestly think it might have something more to do with the fact that Can is supposed to seem childlike. I remember in an English translation of the novel it emphasized something during the sex scene about Can initiating and kissing Tin back for the first time. I always thought that it had more to do with the fact that that’s just how Plan plays his character, but I don’t know. If this is so then we should get much better kisses after the flashbacks are done. Let’s just hope!!

Chapter 1 of the Hemp Rope book starts out at the training camp which would be episode 3 of the UWMA series and runs parallel to The Red Thread/UWMA. The events of ch. 1 of the book are pretty much confirmed to be in the series since they said they're changing Team's age to 18 so it'll be legal, so I really highly doubt that it'll start from where we left off as long as the writers stick to the original book! Personally, I think Between Us/Hemp Rope will probably start some time between episode 2 and 3 of UWMA.
