In shows like Voice, there were moments of tenderness between the leads that made us hope for romance, similar to what we saw in The X-Files. On the other hand, there are dramas like Hospital Playlist, where romance exists but isn’t the focal point; it’s simply portrayed as a natural part of life. I understand what you're trying to say. In fact, when a drama is described as “Law Life,” most of its content usually revolves around that theme. However, other aspects of life will inevitably appear, elements that help us connect with or distance ourselves from certain characters. These are simply tools used to tell the story. At this point, we're all just speculating. We don’t know yet if there will be any romance. It could end up being a mentor-mentee relationship, or something similar to the dramas you mentioned, where romance isn't present but the potential exists. Or maybe there will be romance,we simply don’t know yet.

There’s an “if” in the sentence above, which implies that it may or may not happen. As you said, every genre has its purpose—but how can we judge something that hasn’t even happened yet? A few funny scenes in a drama don’t automatically make it a comedy, just like Hospital Playlist isn’t classified as a musical drama. Most of the runtime is typically dominated by the primary genre, while other elements are there to help us connect with the characters and support the story’s progression. That seems to be the case with this drama so far. The real issue is people calling something “forced” when it hasn’t even happened yet.
Sometimes I think people have certain expectations about a drama and project those onto it. The way some people freak out over a potential romance when there hasn't even been a hint of it is really unwarranted. And even if there is any romance in the future, it's between two consenting adults both lawyers, no less who are more equipped to recognize if something is wrong than the average person. Let's not project our judgments onto other people's decisions, especially when we haven't even seen how things unfold. Otherwise, we're no better than those fertility clinic nurses who labeled an unborn child a monster.
I love legal dramas, and having two shows in the same genre airing simultaneously is such a treat. One is a great slice-of-life drama that's perfect to unwind with after a long day, and the other has had a strong start and looks very promising—I hope it continues that way.
At least they got married and lived together for a while in a walk to remember. Here, they just dated for a short…
Old melodramas were downright brutal, often ending in heartbreak. While things are better now, and I'm glad they skipped Da-eum's death—I can't even imagine how heartbreaking that would have been—I still wished for the best-case scenario, where they were at least engaged, if not married.
I think the ending will be similar to the movie A Walk to Remember. It will likely be a sad ending, but at least the male lead and female lead will have some time together.
Most fans of LJS probably follow his projects because of his past romantic roles. So it's understandable that some might be disappointed with this one — it's more of a laid-back, slice-of-life drama with subtle romantic undertones, rather than the over-the-top romance they're used to seeing from him. But it seems like the actor might be trying something new, and I, for one, like it. So it's totally okay to drop the project and not follow it anymore. Let others enjoy what they’re enjoying.
Are the people in the comments even watching the drama?
If you're talking about haters, it's likely that most people are fans of certain actors and follow their projects. In this case, the actor is primarily known for cheesy, romantic roles, so fans might be disappointed with a more laid-back drama — more of a slice-of-life genre with subtle romantic undertones, rather than the over-the-top romance they're used to from the actor's previous projects.
omg same i'm thinking of skipping it for one month i'm not sure if i can do that
Yes, honestly that might be the best move! Bingeing it all at once would definitely be easier on the heart 😂 At least we wouldn't be left hanging every week, suffering in suspense!
I think I need to let this go. I love it so much it actually hurts. Watching it every week is just too emotionally draining—it’s honestly gut-wrenching. I get so invested, and then I'm left hanging, waiting for the next episode. It’s exhausting to keep riding this emotional rollercoaster week after week. I don’t think I can keep putting myself through this.
I didn't know that this was a remake of a Chinese drama, and I don't really read summaries to avoid any kind of spoilers, even minor ones. But, God, did I wish I had read the summaries, because the romance just felt so wrong. The first two episodes were great. I was expecting a new theme for the drama. The chemistry between the actors was perfect, and the blended family theme was great. But I got an ominous feeling from the way the ML was shot in a few scenes, which may have hinted at romance. I thought maybe I was wrong and imagining things, as the FL wanted everyone to be like siblings through adoption or whatever method possible. After finishing Episode 3, this ominous feeling got the better of me, so I checked the comments for that episode. First of all, there are so many comments saying the C-drama was better and comparing both dramas. Good for you guys, but maybe you weren’t the target audience for this one. Perhaps it was intended for an audience who isn’t familiar with the C-drama. So, maybe we should be more civil and avoid measuring which drama is better. Secondly, the minute I confirmed the upcoming romance between the siblings (I know they are not blood-related), everything in the first couple of episodes made me think they were family, and I dropped the drama, which is very, very rare for me, as it is not my cup of tea. To those who like the drama, I hope you keep enjoying it, and to those who are fans of a certain version and think it is not as good as the original, good for you. Maybe you should go rewatch that and enjoy your time, rather than comparing the two and looking for flaws in this drama. Constructive criticism is great, but fan wars, not so much. I hope you guys have a great day.
The FL is basically portrayed as a Sociopath in ep1 and ML selfish/greedy in ep. 2. So for me they don't really fit together and Ep 3 was much better in quality and with better interactions between the leads which might not fit the narrative of those 2 episodes as much as writers wanted to show us.
