I've been addicted to this one but it's not that great. It's far from realistic. First of all, it seems to be a concubine drama and then we're frown this boring main character who's "PERFECT". kind, graceful, doesn'tmindsharingherhusband. Which is ofcourse, impossible. The actor was also terrible. Then we have the all evil empress and her mother who try everything to get rid of our naive main character. Then there's the king who has so many women in his palace but he only has 100% unwavering love for her. BORING. CLICHE.Then there's the political part of it which sucks too.
If you're into palace dramas you'll know that most of them are suspense. Our beloved main character could lose his/her life any moment. Or get into trouble. Through all the scheming. This though, it has the scheming, but it feels like nothing is serious.
Always so hard to find these Chinese historical dramas online with English subs :(
Yeah. I'm all for China and all of that but their dramas suck. There are some good ones of course. But japanese dramas are more on the creative/comedic sides. Korean dramas are dominating and are soo well done. I'm watching a couple of 2014 cn dramas and it feels like I'm watching a drama from 2002. The script, the acting, the story, the music it's just really not as well done as korean dramas. And then there's the issue with the government censoring everthing. Not all of them of course.
It is so frustrating watching this drama.....what kind of authority is this Emperor walking in he so weak.
I don't find he's weak. It's just that usually the emperor also has to answer to his officials because he needs their power and influence. And there's always someone else after the throne you can't afford to lose them. Then he has an overbearing mother and grandmother and for ancient chinese people filial piety is #1. He can't just say "FUCK YOU MOM".
I love this article. But for me, the innocence may piss me off. In most dramas, the kissing scenes are very awkward. They just press their lips together while the girl has her eyes wide open in shock. I honestly can't go "OMG" to that. As if there's not feelings. I still watch Cartoon Network and Nicktoons but no dramas on Western TV. For me, it's mostly because they go on too long. They drag the dramas out for many seasons and they slowly kill the show. They run out of ideas and add in senseless dramas. I honestly don't know what hooks me so much to Asian dramas. It's just so hard to explain. Though, on the plus side, I know 3 asian languages much better than those who sit infront of text books. After all these years, I can understand 60% of daily conversation. Haha.
This drama is actually loosely based on a story in Chinese history. It's a drama worth watching!

Hello. :D Boys over flowers is on my to-watch list. Of course, since Kim Bum is one of my favorite actors and it's the drama he's most known for. I'll watch it after I finish Faith :P Both of my favorite hotties, Lee Minho and Kim Bum, in one drama *o*
The ending sucked too /o/ I remember reading a really good manga a long time ago. After reaching the ending I wished I never read it the first place. In the end, after building up and intense story line all about romance, and who the main girl would choose, they let her end up with both. Literally. Dr.Jin ended in a similar way :/
I dunno why there are so many bad reviews about this drama. Overall I enjoyed it but I do agree the time traveling thing was messed up and didn't make sense at all. All through the show I had to keep telling myself "Just don't think about it."
Did Jun Hyuk get to the college he promised Se Kyung he would get into? The ending sucked bad. Now I have to use my imagination and deduce things to satisfy my mind. Someone get me an eraser.
The ending was really disappointing. Honestly, someone had already spoiled it for me and I had my share of sadness when I was halfway through the show. At first I thought that only Ji Hoon was going to die. Can't believe the writers would decide to let the romance die with the main characters which is 90% the reason be why most of us kept watching. In the end, we didn't get to see Se kyung and Jun Hyuk be happy together nor did we see Jung Eum and Ji Hoon resolve their problem. They spent the whole ending killing off the characters and we didn't get to see the other characters shine in the end, like in the first season. Why didn't we get to see President Bo Suk. And not just in words. Why didn't we see In Na rise to fame? What happened to Kwang Soo and In Na's relationship? What happened to Shin Ae and her dad after Se Kyung died?
