They’re not really supernatural. The powers originally came from lab experiments and some characters gain abilities after being exposed to chemical waste from the lab (they call it phenol). And yeah the female lead basically has two sources behind her powers. To me, from what I understood by watching the series, there is 3 different endings for the three timelines they'd…
1. Sad Ending for the original timeline(which ML wears glasses) - Both ML and FL are alive but apart. ML in China and probably, FL in paris(as he said her to go). Only ML knows and remembers everything. FL just have memories of those teenage days and knows ML as her boss only.
2. Happy Ending for the present/ Main timeline which we've known all along. - Both ML and FL knows everything and remembers everything (proves the wedding photos are same as in the early episodes) but mentally unstable because of all the awareness of almost death experiences together. I think she didn't die from the stab(December 2024). Maybe she was healed because we only got the scene until he ran with her in his arms. And both must have married in 2025 after she was healed.
3. Open Ending for the new timeline which is created by ML. - In this one, only ML has all those memories and FL only has the same memories as original timeline except the nightmares she sees often. (what could have happened to her if he didn't save her). Then after she come back from Paris, we can see ML introduces himself(her former boss) as her Gege from past, by confirming it with the jar of stars she gave and confess his feelings towards her suggeting us about an open ending which she will fall in love with him again without even those tragic yet lovely memories becuase aparently he(gege) was her first love.
So all the three timelines, he chooses to carry the burden to give her peace. But in the original timeline, he couldn't have her and in the Main timeline, although he could have her by his side, she also isn't in peace because of all those near death situations and future possibilities. Then the third timeline, he made things better by Resetting it again, expecting she will fall in love with him all over again, but this time pain-free. So maybe that's why he says that he is the luckiest because only he has those new Only-good memories of her without past traumas which his alternative others con't have...
