I completely agree, except martial law is a huge deal anywhere, not just SK.Hopefully, it all ends peacefully…
When martial law was declared in South Korea in the past, they fired indiscriminately from helicopters, raped women, killed parents in front of their children, and rounded up young men to beat them before digging pits to bury them alive. Martial law in South Korea legitimized these actions. This is not something to be taken lightly.
"We must stay alert til the very end.
We haven’t forgotten how the previous regime promised to withdraw the military only to shoot at civilians to the sound of the national anthem playing at noon.”
This is why South Koreans hear 'Ma..' and the PTSD kicks in ,this all happened only 40 years ago . And absolutely true martial law is a nightmare for any country but SK havent healed from the last one yet sobits triggering.
It's around 9:30 pm in Seoul now. Democratic Party leaders believe tonight can be very dangerous, as Yoon may attempt one more desperation move in the dead of the night before the vote tomorrow.
This!!!!!!!! Is !!!! The !!!! Current!!!! Situation!!!! In South Korea,so everyone who has been whining about a drama please think twice or if you're unaware scroll through the comment section and learn . Please ,so many people sound tone deaf crying about kdrama airing schedules.
Let's take this postponed drama schedule as a moment to delve into Korea's past through movies and dramas, particularly those depicting the 1980 Gwangju Uprising. This event, sparked by the last martial law, has left unhealed traumas that still resonate today. To better understand this significant chapter in Korean history, I recommend watching films like "A Taxi Driver" (2017) and dramas such as "Youth of May" and "1987: When the Day Comes" (2017). These powerful stories will provide valuable insight into the country's turbulent past and its ongoing impact on Korean society.
To get a bit ,just a bit of understanding on what has been going on and why the reactions are strong and everyone in SK is super alert about the recent events .
And if one enjoys reading, please pick up the book Human Acts by Han Kang, also about the gwangju uprising. ( the 1st asian female author to win the novel prize ,so we were supposed to get a documentary on her ,hence the past postponed schedule and getting only 1 episode per week but has been cancelled apparently).
Ok my tone might have been wrong but seeing your comment didnt sit right with me ,so i apologize regarding that but please do not make that passing comment now ...and i also left that comment because i felt your comment was being very insensitive.
I didn't direct those words to you ,expressing disappointment on how to wait longer is understandable but the other person saying "international viewers" " dont mix leisure and politics " doesnt sit right in this situation
Bruh listen to yourself....the entire entertainment industry could shut down if anything goes wrong regarding this current issue And in SK politics and entertainment has always walked together Dig it up ,dont make passimg comments like this if you don't know what SK is going through
