I believe there are many who wish to critique this drama in any possible way.

I have seen many comments like this about the actress’s performing skills, while I can’t comment about her previous works ( I haven’t seen any), As the novel’s reader I can say that Ruonan brought Wen Yifan's character to life. Like, I'm not even exaggerating, the trauma Wen Yifan went through, and being strong even after all of that and continuing your life is not easy. What I liked about Yifan's character was how vulnerable yet strong she is. I can gladly say that she is doing Yifan's role justice.

If you read TFF, you know the siblings dynamic, right? Their sibling fight is just insulting each other, not like having silly arguments (as shown in drama). Heck, you won't notice any signs of love between them even if they are helping one another. Since HL is told from Sangzhi's pov, Sangyan is depicted as more annoying than in TFF. Fans who initially read HL were taken aback when they read TFF since they didn't anticipate that he would be so affectionate and gentle to his partner.

It’s not only about good and bad acting. Even watching HL, I had a hard time seeing Victor as Sangyan. As a novel reader of both HL & FF, I can surely say that Sangyan doesn’t show this much emotion on his face , he’s not talkative at all. He’s the type of person who doesn’t talk much, but if they open their mouth, it’s either to say something annoying or to praise themselves. Of course, no shade to the actor; I think the direction was different, and he did a great job with what he had to work on.

You should start with manhua, the chapters (60 as of now) are short and art is pretty then proceed to read novel (almost completed). There are few parts, details and some ml-fl conversations that manhua artist has skipped. So you can be a little disappointed if you read novel then manhua. Have a good read 😁
