So pleased she is coming back- who knows the truth behind the scandle- I just know she is one of the best if not the best actresses of this era. If there is truth behind her alleged nature I hope the experience has made her into a better person.
Sadly I totally agree with your review- I began to fast forward scenes that were a naval gazing, cloying, sentimental overload! The guilt over his past was overly dramatic - yes he could have had immense grief over his friends death but to blame himself? I had to force myself to watch the last episode as the scandle broke and this further diminished my interest - plus it was obvious how it would all end. Justveasnt interesting enough.
I also thought he might have actually done something 'bad', he deserves to be blamed for and seeing that he was…
Ahh yes- good point! It does seem a theme in kdramas of accepting fault and selfblame- very cultural. Similar to taking on misdeeds of parents and shame, even for being an orphan!! I thought the catholics took on a lot of guilt and original sin butvtge koreans do seem to surpass them!
Agree wholeheartedly! A very good review leaving little norecto be said! However .....Cant believe she was the actress in Nevertheless...she didnt say that much more in that drama either come to think of it... and I didnt recognise her! Such cold fury in her eyes! Must admit its the first drama that had me yelling not to kiss!! Did not need the kiss and sex - her recognition and acceptance of the fact he was there for her was sufficient and his death would have motivated her to continue her bloody revenge. The first person to show genuine care for her. Her last chance of becoming human. The last fight scene was overkill (excuse the pun!) She was in no fit state to win against him realistically and no way would he have entertained the fact that she could have been killed before reaching him- his desire to kill her was equal to hers! But compulsive viewing - done in one evening!
So agree about the romance betweem the two- so awkward and totally unbelievable that two adults would have so little physical contact. Plus he is not nerdy but naive- and irritatingly so. His character just doesnt add up- letting his mother treat his fiance in such a way also grtting in my nerves. She may havr loved him in her previous life but why now is all i keep aski g myself!
We have no desire to watch this but read your review. Cannot watch those infantile FLs or juvenile cringey romances.…
Relieved its not just me! I much prefer korean dramas! Goblin Hotel del Luna, Devil Judge!! But Ashes of Love will always be on my list of favourites as was the first Chinese drama I watched- and Eternal love - both epics!
Have to agree with you. Leo is just not right for this role- he looks too young for the FL. Yheir love scenes make me cringe. The depiction of life in aab is laughable. The familiar tropes keep coming!
