Not adopted. The son was born to a maid that was not quite a concubine.
Sorry I couldn’t help with another recommendation. ❤️

It’s okay. I was surprised when I first heard it but I heard it around the 3 time I watched this lol. I have watched the Rise of Ning about 3 or 4 times in the last 2 weeks because it is just soooo good.

Okay, I thought so. In the series they said he was born from a maid and they used the term 通房 (tōngfáng) which was a maid of higher status but was given to provided sexual experience and companionship before the man got married. So Duke Wei was Tings biological father but his mother was a tongfang maid.

I'm lost... Little Ting is her brother from the same biological father, is he adopted as her sister?!

The comments make me sad. Racism should never be condoned no make what color, nationality, or attitude (when I say attitude I am talking about the way they act) someone has.

No one is born racist people learn racism. As an Afro Latina (Black Hispanic Person) I have faced racism and seen racism where toward others like me, asian people, African Americans, and even again people who are white. Racism is when you don’t like and treat someone differently/nasty because of their race. Anyone can be racist again another race or even their own race without realizing it.

The most important thing is to be compassionate, to treat other the way you want to be treated, and teach people when they do or say something that is racist.
