We have too many dramas that reward persistence. It is violence.
Not sure if this drama qualifies but I saw a similar comment fed up with persistent male lead getting "rewarded"

Its a Japanese drama with 10 episodes. It is hard to call it repetitive.
I am guessing you cannot stomach 50 episode or 100 episodes Korean dramas or Asadoras which have over 156.

I think you are not the target audience. It doesnt make it bad.
If I am not the target audience I dont bother.

Maybe episodic stories might suit you. Dramas with new characters every episode.
I dont usually like those since such dramas are usually crime dramas but this is a good shout.

That is not the point at all.
It is a story about repentance not time travel.

Try watching Zenibana, it is similar and maybe it might suit you

I just rewatched it. And its a great drama.
The focus is not romance.
Kitano Kie was great in it.
Stories about human hypocrisy are always great to watch

Yeah, I learnt later than websites like dramabeans which are usually female run just give these dramas high ratings because the male leads are heartthrobs even though the plot is headache inducing

Personally, I believe that Korean dramas 2008 and below were usually bad. Especially the popular ones. The popular tropes were just misogynistic

The problem with this is that the beginning is just so good.
It goes downhill from there.
Usually long dramas start slow but this starts so well that it gives you unrealistic expectations

I mentioned another drama which is Ugly Alert.
I dont usually cry, I have gone years without crying but Ugly Alert made me cry.
To me it trumps every Korean drama I have seen.
It has too many episodes though so that might be a turnoff

Hahaha don't worry. I am very good at dropping dramas unlike when I began a decade ago

@Mai I didnt like My Father Is Strange as much. It was fun but I couldnt finish it. Chaebol male leads are a turn off.
Lee Yoori is great of course. I like how the kids paid rent. The siblings dancing of course I am sure you cannot forget.
Ugly Alert is much better in my opinion.
I think Its Beautiful Now had a great start and just went downhill. It gave the impression that the romance wont be angst filled with Mirae which was a lie.
There were fewer or zero court room scenes later too.
Wasted potential in my book

@deidra I got the episodes now and was able to watch the few I didnt have in order.
My issues with it started with the episodes I watched in order before my download problems.
Soo Jae and Yuna were my favorite couple of the bunch. So I was pretty disappointed that they had little screen time together

I didnt like this drama but decided to give it another try since I love Kim Ga Eun. I love selfish female characters for reasons you pointed out.
Male characters are usually considered cool and driven when they are selfish. I feel its a double standard
An actress from Love All Play is in it and that reminded me of this drama
Maybe on second viewing, I might like it

@Mai Now thats just unfair. Children don't have to do anything to be cute.
I don't think its an objective opinion. I prefer Yuna to MiRae to be honest.
Her backstory is very little but she isnt a wimp like MiRae.

Then again I was watching in fast speeds and didnt watch episodes in correct order because of download issues lol.

I think this drama is just poorly written.

Once Again was much better which I watched recently.

Even as a Yoon Shiyoon fan, it is hard to stomach.
I find the long lost daughter and adoption plot more interesting than the romances.

I prefer if couples are apart at the start and try to get together, not spend the first half together and then break up for dumb reasons to drag the plot.

Also, it is a science and proven that women are harder on female characters than male ones and vice versa.
