I avoided Japanese dramas for years because of it.
I stay away from Asian movies in general as a result.
In this, the 15 year old boy is played by an adult, in the reverse case, it is usually a 15 year old played by a 15 year old.

As many pointed out, age of consent is 13 in parts of Japan if I remember correctly.

Kids have sex at younger ages too, so blaming her is taking it too far.

Look at Love All Play, the supposed female lead didnt appear for the first 8 episodes.

Chinese do that a lot. They adapt a BL add a girlfriend who is just a misdirection.

The difference is that Kanji rejects women but Mikami does not.

Mikami straight up told Saitomi that he will sleep around and he gave her the key to his house.

Rika and Naoko are very similar but it's easy to be sympathetic with Rika since she is the protagonist.

Saitomi tried to justify Mikami's cheating too but I don't think it's possible.

Naoko is no saint but she is not even 10% of the reason Saitomi and Mikami's relationship failed
