I beg to differ. As someone involved in the subbing scene and in novel translations. You have more people who speak Chinese than Korean.
It means there is a higher pool of volunteers to choose from.
We just don't have the Chinese government involved in pushing their content.
Hallyu Wave was not accidental, it was intended.
It is the same with Japan, the government did not make an effort to promote their content to foreign audiences.
I probably should get around to subbing some Japanese dramas. At least the raw files are available unlike Chinese dramas.

I recall an official Chinese drama YouTube channel saying they used machine translation. They are just lazy

It comes with the territory. I had to wait 2 years for the subs of Love or Spend.
Korean dramas have the fastest subbing speed
Followed by Mainland China and Taiwan is usually at the bottom.
I usually wait a year to even bother to watch Taiwanese dramas from Viki

My point is that people forget that if the actress did not do her job , the director can reshoot the scene.

I always recall an Indian movie where an actress breathing was mocked. It was later discovered that her character is supposed to have asthma but it was edited out of the final cut

I have watched every single remake including a Thai movie.
The acting by the cast here was great and this version much better.
Ariel Lin is also more believable as a high school than Ha Jiwon lol
I think some people have a bias towards Korean dramas.
I understand why, their budgets usually dwarf Taiwanese dramas but there is a reason dramas like Fated to Love which originated in Taiwan are being remade in Korean with 20 times the budget.

Like I said, I don't like shallow romances.
To me it is lazy writing to use the heart making them fall for someone.
It removes free will

It is no different from falling for someone who did plastic surgery to look like your dead wife
