Title Against the Current Spoiler
what i dont understand is, for someone like jinqi, who literally helped the emperor save his own ass, how come…
Not really, jinqi intentionally resigned, probably because langxian advised him not to fly too close to the sun and potentially overshadow the emperor

Title Who Rules the World Spoiler
don’t get me wrong I’m loving it, but how can the ML’s father still listen to the stepmother? like he knows…
nah, it's good writing. 1. Because he loves his wife, 2. he's getting old and can't afford to destroy his family, 3. he's trying to maintain a power balance so that Lanxi's faction won't grow too powerful.

What was the catalyst for Gu turning against the emperor? Was it because the empress died under suspicious circumstances…
I think Gu must've heard from his son about how the emperor always defends Prince Qi and his associates, and this allowed them to be bold enough tosmuggle war horses. He probably feels the emperor will eventually bin CP and the GU family later on in favour of Qi and Zhao.
