From what i heard, in one version, when the Garuda perished, he left a pure heart made of glazed glass. And XuanJi's heart is also made of glazed glass. The redemption part of the title made so much more sense now cuz in the hindu version, Garuda had to free his mother from a curse place on her by his angry elder brother. I see this as a redemption he did in place of his mother who cause Aruna to be incompletely bc of her own impatience.

SiFeng and XuanJi kinda remind me of the hindu legend in some way that SiFeng accompanied XuanJi like Garuda accompanied his mother. Both man fought for the sake of the person they saw as most important
