I never thought the kids had died, but after reading the comments, I checked and there is an open door, water flowing beneath it, (similar to the path the kids left the wagon), and the blue black white raincoat is on the floor, but no body of kids. To be trapped beneath the wagon would need the kids to be outside the wagon when the slide occurred.

The original length is 2:27 min, but at the 3:38 version, the remaining is not only interview but there are scenes cut from the movie. In my point of view they complete the flow of the story and with little effort you can rearrange and make your own director's cut version of the movie, making it almost 3 hour long.
