I genuinely don’t understand what is happening to Chinese dramas lately. Out of the three biggest shows that were airing, Whispers of Fate, Sword and Beloved, and Blood River, only Blood River was actually good. The other dramas were destroyed by ridiculous writing choices. Do these writers seriously believe that killing off every character automatically makes a drama “memorable”? Because it DOESN’T. Especially when the deaths are pointless, forced, and make zero sense.
I’m so tired of dropping dramas halfway when they had SO MUCH potential, only for the writing to implode. I’m at the point where I’ve cursed so much I physically and mentally can’t take it anymore. And I can’t even cry now because I’ve already spent all my tears on fictional characters who genuinely deserved better. I am even scared to start love and crown because the writer is the same as sword and beloved. The plot was SOOOOOOOOOOOO MESSY! Whoever directed and wrote this should just consume rat poison at this point because I am pretty sure they were taking crack while writing so might as well take rat poison. Yes the plot with the brother was UNNNECCESSARY! I thought after ep 20 maybe like after 2 or 3 episodes they were gonna reunite and we'll see some love dovey shit between them because this is a romance drama NOT A XIAXIA DRAMA LIKE WHISPER OF FATE. WHY DID THEY BRING THAT CORSAC FOX, THE LI GIRL???!! I was alright with Rumu and weiyun romance bexause they were cute understandable . They were introduced at the first part so I understand why the sudden fox!! Rumu and weiyun dying was also unnecessary!!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH. Ohmygod. This drama had so much potential but the writers just had to ruin it. This was like so bad. The first half was going so well and then after Fugui’s sword meridian was removed I just breezed my way through it. God yeah I cried for Fugui in the last episode but they DID NOT do enough justice to Fugui’s and Qingtongs characters. They had SOOOOO MUCH potential. It’s like after fugui found his freedom that was the only development to his character. Qingtong became bland. I wanted more screen time between them(mL and fL)but no they had to introduce some other characters in the middle and it became all jumbled up and confusing. For some reason they had ZERO chemistry after the ordeal. Where did all the chemistry from their part disappear to?! WHHHHAAAATTTTT WHY DID THEY DO THIS??!!! THIS IS SO DISSAPOINTING. I have waited MONTHS with so much expectations only bombard it with bad writing!!!!!!!!!
