Just started S2 last night, wanted to wait until they were all out on Netflix. Now hate Lady Jin even more than I did last season. Please tell me she comes to a sticky end?!
Bawled. Which I never do. My daughter said later 'I could hear sniffing and thought, it can't be you, you never cry'. So, be warned. This was such a naturalistic film. Beautifully acted.
You didn't want to give Word of Honor a watch? It's very popular, so am curious why you haven't done so? It's well written and acted, good production values.
Started watching this because it was recommended by Avenue X. Couldn't give a crap about Xiao Zhan being in it (though I am a big fan of The Untamed), and haven't even got that far yet.
This is definitely the best CDrama I have watched thus far. The writing and acting is so on point. I love that its essentially a Wuxia drama with a sci-fi sub theme. The premise that the current human race is a legacy of a former civilation that evolved to the point that their own technology ultimately destroyed them is a common one in western literary sci-fi, particularly in the 60s and 70s, hell...the whole lost civilation of Atlantis rests upon this premise. It's fabulous how this theory/theme has been utilised for this story.
The only downside to watching this show is that I know much of the nuance of dialogue and context is lost in the translation, which is a shame, but in no way detracts from my thorough enjoyment. I hope very much that all the original actors remain for seasons 2 and 3.
AvenueX (who is a big fan of WoH, and posts regular reviews of Chinese dramas on your YT channel) put together a very good Epic Fight Scene mix on her channel. Do have a watch, I think she captured the spirit of the show really well.

Daughter: "Aaaww, I don't care, I'll work it out later".
