I have checked the Director here on MDL He seems to have directed some well received dramas, but I didn’t see any XiaXia on the list. There were mixed comments some talked about him ‘spoiling’ the drama (but we all know comments on these platforms can be malicious). I also noticed about 2 dramas that have taken way longer to air. Anyways, however it’s going to be, all the best to Xu Kai and the cast (if he gets this project).

Even though we’ve been advised on here to not mention other c-actors / actresses, I cannot help but reply you by making inferences. Xu Kai HAD not artistic background. He is not a musician nor a dancer. He has never had a ‘scandal’ break out just around the time he is about to release a drama or when he has released a drama. The first and last scandal that broke out about him was in 2020 (I stand to be corrected though) and he didn’t have any projects airing that time. Infact, that scandal came out when he was a shining star. 3 projects that were hits (back to back) SOYxP, TL and AMA. He was HOT, FRESH and making waves. Guess what happened? A false accusation/ scandal broke out that almost ended it all. At a point in his journey as an actor he had to take time off work ( probably due to the back injury he suffered when he was thrown off the horse during CL filming or die to the scandal, I don’t know) he gained some healthy weight and fans left him. They threatened to and they actually left him after fat shaming him. I am a new fan girl but I have read and watched so many news. The admin of one of his groups left and fans in the group chat complained about the money they’ve contributed and Xu Kai sent voice note saying “anyone that wants to leave should leave, no one should be forced to support him and that he will pay anyone that the admin is owning..etc”
betcha, Dylan that you’ve referred to does not have as many well known/ profitable/ prominent dramas as XK. I have only watched him in LBFAD and that’s it. Nothing prominent ( that’s not to say he’s not a good actor). Kai Kai didn’t have any varshow until the 2 episodes of GE he did to promote SAHPH. Kai Kai was mismanaged… he was used ( literally) his fame was exploited to make money for his agency and to promote other actors and actresses (the Bai Lu that you mentioned also benefited) in that same agency. Kai Kai is the BIG BROTHER of his agency, such huge responsibility he has on his shoulders🥹 is Dylan in the same ‘shoe’ as XK? XK was just a model… that has been blessed with talent, luck and he is also hardworking. More so, XK himself has said that he isn’t too interested in fame. Those that you think are doing well and famous are probably relying (heavily) on promotion and capital. One thing is can they maintain the status quo once that capital ‘shifts’ focus to another upcoming/budding actor / actress that has more charisma/beauty than them? For example, XK’s agency has shifted their focus to another actor. He gets posted way more on their Instagram pages. XK has not attended any award show this year, all these award shows/promotions/ even dramas are usually the ‘resources’ they give XK. Imagine if XK has not made a name (a worthy name) for himself, won’t he be left hanging now? Do you think he would have melons 🍉 shared about him and big big projects? Some actors might spend all their earnings on marketing and promotion. There are users that will come to you in form of friends or girl friends or lovers but they only want your popularity to rub off on them. C-ENT is deep! Really deep! Which is why I am happy XK has real life friends outside of the industry. And if worse comes to worse he can rely on his ability as a model to still make money.

The last cdrama I watched before binge watching all of his dramas was ‘The Longest Promise’ and I didn’t finish it (dropped it when that merman died ). It was Netflix that recommended it after watching LBFAD. I now use my VIP wetv account to watch animations. 😂

I doubt Xu Kai ever dated / planned to date this said lady. Her bio on MDL says she’s an internet celebrity in the Hanfu circle. Going by the relationship scandal history that rocked Xu Kai’s career, I doubt he’ll ever date an ‘internet celebrity’ again. I have a feeling he’s currently in a relationship and he is happy. Very happy and content. I am happy for him, he should continue to keep it private. I wish him the very best, I hope other fans do too. We should only be concerned about his projects and business partnerships.

I agree. My own plot is somewhat different 😂 I sorta want her to be a renowned singer divorcee with a kid. And him a ex serviceman who is now doing bodyguard for celebrities. He made a mistake ( well he thought he did) that cost the life of his family, this broke him and forced him into early retirement/ hermit hood. He was forced out of retirement to be her bodyguard because he was told he can solve the mystery surrounding his family’s death ( the case somewhat relates to her ex husband ). He takes the job and had a hard time getting along with her and her kid but he does his job really well protecting her from the antics of a jealous and notorious ex whilst investigating his other mystery. Of course they later fell in love, she made him sing ( well record some lines ) in her song about the 2 of em falling in love cause Xu Kai can’t sing jack 😂 Short story shorter he died protecting her. He sacrificed himself (when they were on a relaxing vacation on a private island and were ambushed ) so that she and their children ( he adopted her first child as his own and she gave birth to a baby girl for him )can escape on a boat that will take them to a place where they’ll be airlifted back home to safety provided by government agencies (I need this government agency part because of censorship and for Chinese people to like the drama-it has to give patriotism) So it’s a bad ending drama, the ending is realistic… But they can then do episode 28 (yes, short drama please no unnecessary side notes ) where they’ll show us how he miraculously escaped the hand grenades he detonated 😂 and they lived happily ever after ( cheesy ending but it’ll make the populace happy)…
