fairly certain JW was on his best behavior too at the beach. Seems like he is trying to do comparisons right now.. Honestly they don't know anything about each other.. how could you in 2 months?

It seems that the biggest problems of the leads is that they never talk to each other.. they just keep making assumptions.
We don't have mind readers on the planet.. No wonder they seem to be at odds with one another..

I am not sure, but I have read in this forum that it was originally 12, then 16 and then 17. I guess they kept changing it as they were filming it. It is such a short format that perhaps adding more is what they had to do for more balance to the story.

I about choked on my coffee when I saw KG with a microphone stuffed in his shirt for karaoke. Pretty funny with SY joining in too.. The worst one had to be the doctor who couldn't remember that he was married to the woman he was pining over.

I don't know what is funnier, all of the others getting stupid drunk like Jae-Won, or break-up advise from the "Dr Drunk" with solitaire on his computer. At least we know who the "honest ones" are now though!

It definitely got really weird at the end of her last comment. I thought I just got blocked when she disappeared. I won't lose any sleep over it one way or the other. I guess this is always an issue in faceless forums in the basements of homes all over the world. Some people just can't be civil. (Keyboard Cowards)...

I had a bunch of comments disappear from this persons thread. Her main complaint after looking at my profile was that I was a guy. What does that tell you? I laid out my logic and got hammered because "I just wouldn't understand" So much for having a friendly discussion.... At least I didn't get accused of being and idiot... just a crazy guy. Maybe I should have an IQ test for the future just in case I need it for credentials!

She should've ran the moment he said "I love you" after a week. They both wanted it right then and there, but he still gave her an out and she said I am done saying no. She was checking him out and pursuing him as soon as she saw him at the airport. Yep, I can see where that only makes him lame.

I haven't seen anything from her that would make her a "great girlfriend" either. (Okay, well she is pretty)(Pretty crazy too) These facts do not make him a gem either, don't get me wrong. He is an obsessive creep. He was pining over her loss for over a year.. for a 7-8 week investment of time. Her behaviors fed this though. He was too demanding and she was too "willing" after she changed her mind about the one night stand. I will stay longer only if you marry me.. ugh lame. So if you really want to get down to brass tacks, they aren't a good match and they definitely don't talk to each other in the real world. He was there to escape too before his new job. Filling a lifelong dream as he put it.

Liars make great girlfriends as long as you don't have to talk to them. Where in the series was she doing all these great things for him? Wasn't he servicing her too? She gave him a larger portion of food with more clams? Wow. He taught her the basics of surfing. Wow. She took him to get his license for the trailer even though he only planned to leave it on the beach. Wow. She wanted something out of it.. She spent 2 months living with him in his trailer. Wow. I wouldn't call that above and beyond. Last I checked it takes 2 to tango. So when she was kissing him she wasn't getting anything in return? hmm. "She went above and beyond?" Where? In what episodes was she going above and beyond for him? Oh that's right, I don't get it because I'm a guy. Check.

I guess you will never be able to understand me either. I mean who comes up with lame excuses for her?

They both deserve people more suitable for each other.. but we are pretty sure on how this will end.

I would agree to your point 1 had she not said to him in her message "I am keeping your camera's, no I am stealing your camera's" So his reason for saying that to the police in his drunken stupor was from her message. (which he never could really understand) Technically it was not a lie to say she "stole" them by her own admission. How would he know that she was initially going to return them? She had them for over a year. They have never shown her trying to return the camera's until AFTER she got freaked out by the police at her house over a year later. You didn't even hear that she meant to return them until episode 12. She even asked KG after that event if the police really look into burglaries relating to the bit about the stolen silver spoons. Her fate would've been sealed had JW played that message to the police. She could've shipped those camera's off to him or dropped them by his office when he wasn't there right after the breakup. She didn't have to add in the theft on her voice message.

On your point 2, why couldn't she break up face to face? She didn't have to come clean to him about her real name. She could've broken up as Yoon Sun Ah without all the added mess. You can't be sure that he wouldn't let go had she done so face to face without the camera theft farce. She could've made up something else like "I have another boyfriend" or something that made sense.

I won't agree to your point 3 because I know that changing your name doesn't change who you are. Maybe in HER mind he isn't in love with her but he did repeatedly tell her "I love you". Just because she was taking down her fronts doesn't mean that she was someone else completely different. Everyone has fronts or facades. She was actually doing what she WANTED to do when she removed her facade. That means it was the "REAL" her that loved Jae-Won. Well, I can't say she loved him like he loved her in the very beginning. She didn't say that. We did get to hear her admission of love when she was trying to get her surfboard back by telling the clerk her story. It may have taken her time to realize that because of her ex. Up to that point she had only 5 weeks to process her feelings on what had happened to her.

On point 4, to her it was a serious question, but to him it was just a casual answer. How would he know that she was actually asking a serious question. It was ridiculous and his answer was casual. I will concede that it possibly meant that he wouldn't love her, but he didn't say that outright. So I will leave this one as up to interpretation.

On your last point I agree with the stipulation that she wasn't a good girlfriend either. She treated him like shit right out of the gate. If I was in his shoes after her nonsense "the night after", I would've blown her off without even looking back. Honestly they are both lame. On an end note, at least they are both good at their jobs.

I appreciate the response, but I guess we will have to agree to disagree about the camera theft "technicality". (this isn't really important to the story though) He lied saying he gave her the camera's to keep her from going to jail and or being prosecuted. She lied about him giving them to her. Just because you may have forgotten to grab a piece of luggage, doesn't mean that it is a gift or automatically the holders possession. In his drunken stupor talk to her "I even went to the patrol division over there, to send you to jail because you stole my camera's" If she had said "he left them in my possession" or "he left them with me" then she could say that she wasn't a liar.... but that isn't what she told the police... but I am relying on a subtitle for the context. The translation could be off. (It wouldn't be the first time)

He had been looking for her for over a year and she never tried to return them until the inadvertent police knock on the door looking for more people that had been burglarized in the neighborhood. I believe in that episode she also said "what am I doing?" before she started to pack up the camera's.

I believe that he didn't really care about the camera's and he was using the police to try to find her when he was drunk off his ass. It was hilarious that he couldn't even remember doing it 6 times. The fact that he threw the camera case proves that he didn't care about them, but it still doesn't mean he gave them to her. I guess what I am saying is that it is a moot point about the camera theft. He never really cared about them more than he cared about her.

On the breakup, I guess there could be some subjective interpretation. She could've just approached him at the meeting point and said this is the end. I believe that would've been more effective and likely less hurtful. On this point I believe that is why I thought she acted with more deliberation to stoke him up. No matter how she did it, she would be the initiator and would be the "bad person". I am sure that she wasn't expecting him to go to the depths that he did to find her/hold on to her. Maybe she should've expected it when he told her he loved her after knowing her for just over a week.. lol

I agree with you. I think they will end up together because they still love each other... but boy DO THEY NEED TO TALK!

She doesn't realize that he did fall in love with her. She was being her uninhibited self... with a name change.

She took the answer to her question so...literally. I don't remember him saying that he wouldn't love her if she was someone else. I just remember him saying "then that isn't Soon-a" I would have to go back and check. I could be off on the quote. What was that, episode 3? I have given her a break because she couldn't have been all there with everything that was happening to her in her life at the time of their romance. Her fiancé was such a complete tool. (So was his skank)

Breakdown of communication at it's best/worst?

Well, we have more episodes to go to see how they work it all out. Enjoy the series!

I was on the fence about this drama till about episode 8. I have been enjoying it ever since.

He in fact did NOT give her the camera bag. Go back and look. She pulled the camera bag out of the back of the truck, put it on her shoulder and he rushed off and she never handed it to him.

The conclusion is that she DID in fact lie at the police station saying that he gave the bag/camera's to her.

"3C. She didn't intentionally hurt Jae won."

In episode 12 she said:
"I wanted him to hate me, I wanted him to curse me. I wanted him to forget me" I am not sure how you could interpret that as anything other than deliberate intent.

What I am not clear on is whether or not she went there on the meeting date to "come clean" and break up with him, or "come clean" and try to date him. She did say "I didn't want to break up like that" Seems like she did want to break up, but not how she did it. So was her statement "I just regret it. I just keep thinking I shouldn't have done that" saying that she regrets breaking up with him, or breaking up with him like that? Not clear.. at least the way it is worded.

Also, just because you change your name, doesn't mean that your personality changes. She said "everything was a lie except my love"
Was he clingy? DEFINITELY. Was he over eager? FOR SURE. Was it a one way love? At this point we already know the answer is clearly NOT a one way love. What she did was change her name and release her inhibitions. That is what JW loved about her.. no inhibitions and she freely loved him during that time. She is still the same person regardless of the name.

I don't want to drive this point home, but she did say "I was going to leave it as a one night stand, I thought that it would be better" She obviously didn't hold herself to that since she went back to him at Yangyang.

I will pull out my usual disclaimer that I am getting this from the subtitles since I don't speak the language.

But they occasionally break in with one sentence responses. The context is questionable.. at least from translations. (IMO)

I know what you mean, I am getting the feeling that some of the scenes are mixed timelines as well as the interviews.

I would say it feels like a real relationship now.. but after it's over. They certainly aren't showing any open love to one another right now.

You mean sold it to KG! Then they complained that they got too little money for the transaction when the theft of it from JW cost them nothing! lol

I don't remember which episode it happened, but JW made a comment that she looked even better recently than when he met her at Yangyang.

The police seem to be going above and beyond their usual duties with this lot! lol

They both already said if they met up again, they think they would fall in love again.
