Not sure why you think ML's character is more nuanced than JU when he barely steps out of his bubble of laziness…
If you recall, Choi-ung read more books than Yeon-su. She tried to take a book from him by Friedrich Nietzsche saying he wouldn't understand and he started pointing out some of the philosophies and that flummoxed her.
He is not stupid and likely smarter than you think. It looks now like he has suffered some kind of trauma that has affected him and likely affected him so that he just does whatever he wants to do and reads whatever he wants to read.
Also, she didn't have to work too hard for him to get into school. Once he liked her, he took her laptop and started looking up potential jobs with art so he could be with her. (She stepped away for a bit while he was doing that if you recall).
What episode does it show/say that Choi-ung doesn't do anything for his parents. We have seen him in the restaurant more than Ji-ung. One time Ji-ung helped lift a box before his mom showed up and he bailed. The other times he was filming not helping. Choi-ungs parents call him over all the time to help because they didn't know he was a famous artist selling art.
Now we also have Ji-ung talking about how jealous he is of Choi-ung while he was also class president, popular in school..etc. He was brought into Choi-ung's family by non-other than Choi-ung himself. Now we find out that not only is he deceiving his best friend over Yeon-su, but he is also deceiving Choi-ungs family over his mother by his own admission. "Stay away from them so I don't have to show this side of me" He isn't well liked by his peers at work, and I don't think he is a very responsible "angel" either.
Of course I am sure I am missing a lot from the translations.
I didn't like her since the beginning but I was sincerely hoping that I was wrong about her. However, we're now…
Not since the last break up.... what was the last one, #7 or #6 breakup. The last one she never even gave him a reason why. I think the only hint was in the elevator when they were stuck, she accused him of being insincere. She was trying to defend him against the accusations and looking after him when he was passed out. The only one he knew for sure was the contact after the night sleep before the last kiss. He knew nothing about anything else. Fact is they both need to come clean and apologize to one another.
All I see nowadays on the dramas I watch are comments about how people hate love triangles. I’m getting really…
I am really getting tired of seeing the same plot of love triangles over and over and over and over. Makes the plot kind of boring. It's like being stuck in a car between two people arguing.
He never said he loved her and there wasn't enough communication for honesty. I remember in the elevator she even…
The problem is not too many people have the cash to outright buy a house. Also, you need to borrow and pay to have a credit history. If you rent before you buy for years, you are just throwing your money away on rent. At least when you pay a mortgage you are earning equity. Biggest problem is people borrowing more than they can pay. With the exception of a mortgage I never keep a balance on any revolving credit account. Even when buying a car, I always put a huge down payment on it and finance a small portion for a few years just for payment history. Many people don't save money either. Budgeting is your friend. What a sad story for a pregnant woman who is now a single mom... likely strapped to his debt.
I mean, I guess you can't control your feelings, atleast he stayed quiet and didn't bother because it'd hurt all…
The real truth is that she was NEVER interested in him....and still isn't. He is making excuses as to why she wasn't... the "I saw her first, but held back" or "I avoided any contact with her" when she has shown over and over that she knows who he is and what he is about and is still not interested in him. She has even said that she saw him in the sun, but was interested in Choi-ung in the shade. Personally I think he wants her because Choi-ung loves her. He has shown a lot of resentment to his "so called" best friend.
can't side with woong at all, he kissed her, then cause he's afraid of being left behind again he tells her they…
The problem is he doesn't know his feelings to sort them out. There is some kind of backstory here about him that we don't know yet. Something more than just the breakup. He pined for her but never thought he would see her again. She seemed to know who he was when she went knocking on his door. Maybe she should've refrained from trying to use him for her job. I think he started this all to try to reject her back like she did to him... He already didn't need her for his success. He is already there. He did it solely for her benefit. They are BOTH neurotic. Lots of backstory is still missing. What is going on between him and Nu-ah. What happened to Yeon-su's parents. What kind of childhood trauma is affecting Choi-ung. Why does Choi-ung not tell his parents about his art and how much it's worth. Now his best friend is plotting against him. Why was he the lowest ranked student even when he was a more accomplished reader than the number one student in school. Maybe none of it is relevant, but we shall soon find out. One thing is this episode had some funny scenes in it. Something we haven't seen in a while.
I think he's charming. I really like the SML and the actor who plays the SML--his acting is very natural and he's…
I can't/won't argue with that assessment! lol! I always feel like I miss things in the translations. I thought maybe... but Ji-ung is really turning out to be a really selfish person. Even today that little slip of "I saw her first" which may or may NOT be true. If he was so confident, why is he using Choi-ung to get close to her? He just has to have everything Choi-ung has. He seemed to even try to help promote the misunderstandings in the taping and then try to get in to gain trust/console Yeon-su. When I found it that he was Class President and really popular (according to an older episode) I thought he was even more lame.
I don't understand why they broke up. They loved each other and they are still in love with each other. I know…
He never said he loved her and there wasn't enough communication for honesty. I remember in the elevator she even accused him of being insincere. After the breakup the thought she had was she didn't want him to see her inferiority complex. That and her arduous tasks of paying off her unknown Uncle's debt and her Grandmothers hospital bill. It does seem a bit crazy. I think they both need counseling! haha!
And yeah I don't know like what male lead is thinking or it might be he simply didn't think it through ....like…
I think he meant he never planned on being with anyone. He wanted to be alone and after having such a wonderful time with his girlfriend. He became a different person. She then broke up with him without even giving a reason other than I have no use for you at all. He then starts doing all the things that she hates like he is trying to reject her back.. but she's already gone... weird. Something else is going on with him too. What was that dream he was having as a kid being alone on a busy street crying? Did I miss something from the earlier episodes? Was that a nightmare, memory of some trauma? Something going on with his mother too..moping around his home....talking about him being lonely. Not sure where they are going with this.. Not sure why he can't tell her he loves her. He is well read, doesn't appear to be dumb. When she asked him for the book about Friedrich Nietzsche and accused him of not being able to understand and he gave her some insight on the book and philosophy which surprised her. Then he allows himself to be manipulated... it's just strange. She has her issues too, no story on where her parents are and why she is living just with her grandmother. I might be missing a lot just from translation, but it seems like the issues are stacking high just half way through the series. Why another love triangle? haha!! NOOOOOO! They appear to love one another... but I guess there is absolutely no trust in the relationship. I hope they start pulling these things together instead of piling more on the problem pile.
He has to know that she doesn't care about him at all though. She has demonstrated it several times. She also…
I hope you are right about the love triangle. Talk about 2 people with no communication skills! They never seem to understand each other....I wonder where NJ is going to end up in all of this.
after reading some things it looks like jiwoong will start making moves. in their interview about the characters…
He has to know that she doesn't care about him at all though. She has demonstrated it several times. She also mocked him about the boyfriend/girlfriend young people in love comment from the older women that he didn't bother to correct. That is the reason I have an issue with his attitude. He is proving that he isn't as good of a friend that Choi-ung is to him. It isn't just friendship, Choi-ung brought him into his family. He is doing a lot of behind the scenes manipulation... even getting to know her grandmother.. while keeping it secret. I feel for Choi-ung, everyone thinks he is slow/stupid and convinced he wouldn't amount to anything including his ex-girlfriend. His parents seem to ignore him over other people too including Ji-ung. The reasoning behind the breakup was kinda stupid too. I just hope this doesn't turn into 6 episodes of love triangle. If it continues for more than 2 episodes......haha!
I have a non-story related question: Why are the names in the captions on Netflix spelled differently from the names listed on this forum? Also, which ones are correct?

I think so too, but there is a small chance that he might be trying to get them back together. But I have to question it when he keeps ruminating about how much he liked Yeon-su.
