I can say that as an international Latina viewer myself Zhao Lusi and LYN are being favored among these viewers. Just following the channels and commentary among websites that subtitle in Spanish is definitely an indicator (one of many). I can definitely see, however, among other audiences Reba and Leo are well-liked and praised (of course well deserved).
It's because ever since this drama aired, her name has been trending hot and up like hot potato almost everyday…
She is definitely a talented actress and everyone deserves praise. Sad to hear this happening as all the CP’s are amazing and individual actors. Even here on MDL comment section some people are also doing the same regarding their favorite actors elevating them above others which is okay that is their preference.
I feel that people in this discussion somewhat get agitated by any comment indicating the faults of their beloved characters most notably Chang Ge. I just want to emphasize that great characters have good or bad traits.
Chang Ge certainly is extremely short-sighted and is prone to display poor judgement resulting in unfortunate events as she is incapable of thinking about the long-term consequences of her actions. After all the suffering she endures and with other tragic events she is definitely changing and coming to understand that even she has limitations.
Another notable character is Hao Du who is definitely not without flaws. Hao Du is ruthless and is obedient to his father. It seems his father from what I recall has told him not to form any attachments early on in the episodes. This may indicate that he has been told repeatedly throughout his life that such attachments are a weakness. Although we are now seeing that change in recent episodes.
Le Yan another character with shortcomings. She is extremely naive and has led a sheltered life just like her cousin Chang Ge. Le Yan, however, is meek and mild but after her harrowing experience of being kidnapped and surviving, her personality begins to change.
Every other character has other flaws whether good or bad.
I don't understand why Hao Du and Weishuyu are main leads. We barely see them...
Sadly, yes. We barely see anyone else to be considered secondary male and female leads though. They do have more screen time than other characters such as Mujin, Mimi, etc. Also there's many characters in this show that are continually introduced. Not many characters get a lot of screen time other than the main leads of course.
