I have one complaint re today’s episode. There definitely should have been at least one scene between Zhu Yun leaving hospital and the meet up with Prof. Lin. It was way too abrupt, considering the last time they met was that explosive scene. Usually after such a showdown, there is discomfort and anger and regret at the next meeting. Here they just showed them being so comfortable with each other, without having spoken or resolved the earlier confrontation. Yes, some things can be left unsaid but they should have had at least one conversation about it before meeting Prof Lin.
I just asked about the lighter yesterday & today we see Li Xun playing with it after that emotional outburst with Zhu Yun. Frankly I thought it was perfect - he is so jealous and he just is not able to control his emotions. The fact that he can be indifferent to everyone and everything else but Zhu Yun is the proof itself that he loves her like crazy. There is a truth to this - we are definitely our harshest to our very dearest loved ones. That’s how it is in real life, so this is perfectly understandable. Li Xun hurt Xhu Yun. Was it mature? No. Was it wrong? Yes. But we all make mistakes like this in real life so this scene has been enacted excellently by both of them.
A question - why is Li Xun no longer playing with his lighter in these new episodes??? Wasn’t the lighter a big part of his character? Is this a deliberate choice for the post-prison episodes?
People are so stuck up on these formalities saying Li Xun should apologise because he made her suffer, Li Xun…
I totally agree! Those episodes from 3 to 18 showed their relationship developing so naturally and was so beautifully portrayed by the two leads. The small nuances of expressions and gestures felt totally real and made us believe in their love story. True love and understanding needs no formality. The only complaint I have is that Lighter and Princess and the two leads have spoilt every other Cdrama for me! I am just not able to enjoy anything else. Don’t know what I will do once this show is over….
Plus physical contacf!! I drop cdramas after they get together cause they get all annoyingly shy to hold hands…
Yes, that’s so true! I find it ridiculous and highly annoying too..once a couple have physical intimacy, it’s unnatural to suddenly become shy for no reason. The leads are so natural here. He is always hooking his arm around her and she also responds to him in such a natural way that their love is totally believable. That’s why their love story is so attractive and enjoyable to watch.
Waiting for that moment when Zhu Yun finds that photo with Li Xun….she tore it and he fixed it & kept with him. If his gaze isnt enough proof that he still loves her, that photo will be solid proof!
Hello. This is my first time joining a discussion board for a drama. Lighter and Princess literally forced me into doing this. What a drama! It has become my all-time favourite drama & I have watched a lot of Cdramas, Kdramas, Thai dramas etc. in the last few years. I have enjoyed a few other Cdramas but I always found them a bit silly and not really intense or gripping. Lighter and Princess has drawn me in, hooked me and bound me completely. The leads are just superb - their chemistry, their natural acting, their expressions, everything is bang on. Their love story is the best I have seen in recent years. They look superb together - he is heart-crushing handsome and she is so lovely. I am in my 40’s and I have a crush on them! 😁
The only complaint I have is that Lighter and Princess and the two leads have spoilt every other Cdrama for me! I am just not able to enjoy anything else. Don’t know what I will do once this show is over….
